Me and TEXXX can be there anytime.  We are only an hour away from there.  Someone post up a time and we will see what everyone thinks about it.
How about 9:00 A.M. at Loon? We can easily make it to the Box by noon. Last years and this years Rubithon, Marlin and crew made it out in about four and a half  hours from Rubicon Springs to Loon.

 sounds like a plan. It would be cool to get as far as we can on Friday, and spend as much time as possible kicking back the Springs on Sat. (or even make it to the springs on Fri. and have all day Sat. to kick back and wait for others to roll in). :bud:

Who knows how long it takes to get from Placerville to Loon?

I believe that will be about an hour, maybe more with a trailer. You still have about 20mins of driving until you get to Ice House Road, and then its a solid 45mins into Loon depending on how hard you drive and where your driving roots come from, if you know what I mean :eyebrow:

Once you are on Ice House, remember to stay to the left at all of the forks in the road. It should be pretty easy, and maybe we will have some fliers set up? I dont know for sure but I think we should do that...

Hey Mike if you want to do that, let me know. I'm heading up Thursday morning so I could post them on the way in if it would help.
"between projects"

Lady Di

We will probably have someone else to follow up there, but just in case, that would be a huge help.
Or even put a map here (or on another MCR4 directions thread) What about this one?

can someone download it, and mark out the directions to go on here and post it back up?

Is the trailhead we are meeting at at the N. end of Loon? Where you see that second yellow mark? My guess would be that would be where the dam is.

So are you going all the way to the Rubicon springs on Fri? If so we'll probably tag along.
BTW The people at Robb's resort sold it off and will be closed 5SEP for renovations

Sounds good to me.

cool beans! thanks BigMike, that's what I thought. 9am it is! We'll be there with bells on. Although, in hindsight,  :headscratch:  that might be kinda noisy. :cheer: this is going to be GREAT!  :beerchug:

We can easily make to the Springs on Friday with lots of day light left. If no one breaks in the Soup Bowl, Sluice Box or Middle/Big Sluice on the way in. If you want an easy run in that can all be bypassed, but why? I do not care either way I am up there all the time.

we are never there and have never hit a rock in our life. It will be all up to MrW as to how we run it. I would like to go with an easy run. It will still be tough enough for us I'm sure. We just finished building this mammoth, we don't want to kill it right off, but if he wants to go for a challenge I am there with the camera and camcorder for posteriety! its all good!
The whole point of the trip is getting to the Springs and hanging with everyone so the sooner we get there the better, but we don't want to miss out on war stories either. Getting to the Springs on Friday to have time to hang would be really cool.

FIREBALL

Don't plan on having many services at Robs resort. Unless things have changed since June, they were talking about going out of business I think. I'm pretty sure the only gas up there is at Ice House, so fill up there if you're coming from 50.
I haven't been keeping up on all the Rubicon meetings and such, but Spider lake was closed to drive in camping in June. I'm not sure if it's been opened back up yet. If you want to be by the water you may want to push on to Buck Island.
If anyone is coming in from Tahoe on Friday let me know. I'm planning on heading in around noonish. I'll be loaded down with the sound system and just cruisen.
Maybe we'll kick up the tunes Friday night and do a repeat of the Marauder bar at Rubithon......only without me puking afterward.

They will be closed on the 5th of SEP. They just sent me an email saying they sold the place and will be shutting down for renovations.
