It's the 1/2 ton 4x4 Suburban with the tow package. The trailer is 3000 pounds and I'm sure my 4Runner is a little over 3000 pounds  :smack:. It towed fine from the lot to my house empty. This weekend will be the real test going to the Rubicon. It should be fine. I have towed a 28' camper with it. Plus I have the load levelers and anti sway goodies. I take it easy on the hills. If not, I will buy a diesel truck a little sooner than I wanted. I have my 4runner in it now and it only squatted the Suburban a few inch's.

Is it the 5.7L?  thats whay i had in my GMC.  it towed pretty good up 80, but going through the canyon from auburn to Cool it sucked and a couple of the hills up to the Con wasn't the funnest either.

OOOO AAAAA look at my pretty tow rig. Damn it you arent supposed to wheel your tow rigs and bottom them out on the tranny skid plate! Whoops.

Installed a CB in the hoe.... Tahoe that is. Changed the spark plugs/wires today in the 115 degree heat  :shocking:

Once everything was finished I went to start it up and...................nothing.

The fuel gauge went way past full and it started making some weird "ding ding ding" noises. Figured something was shorting out or I bumped a wire loose.. it wouldn't even begin to start. Double and triple checked all the wires.. nothing!

Started to get pretty  :maddest: :tantrum:  then Captain obvious came to the rescue, I had the hood up and the doors open for a few hours, thus it drained the battery... once we got it jump started it was perfectly fine.  :smack:

Running great now!

last week in Pismo.  I pulled 6 stuck trucks out of the sand with it.  it never got stuck once even with the 24 foot travel trailer.  the new tires helped out a lot.

i towed this jeep 1 1/2 miles up and down dunes and alone the beach back to camp.  we jumped it a couple times and hit the woops at about 30 mph.  the front two tires popped and we were stuck so we had to walk back to camp and grab the ford.  i towed the jeep backwards the whole way.

I just towed a 30 foot Gooseneck with a sami and heavy bronco on it.  A total of 10-11,000 pounds up and down I-80 to fordyce and back.  did good most of the way, slowed down to about 45mph on a couple of the hills.  this with my stock 99 F-250.

Edit:  the owner of the trailer just informed me that the trailer weighs about 6000 pounds by itself.  with a 4000 pound bronco and a 2500 pound sami the total load is closer to 12,500 pounds.    :yikes:

Here's one of my tow rigs, my other is a '05 4-door Lariat. That's me in the middle in the red shirt inside.

Make it or break it! (I usually break it)
