Need idea on getting rid of truck.
« on: Jul 06, 2005, 09:39:52 PM »
I was wondering how to get rid of a 91 toyota 4x4 truck.
The truck has been stripped. :yesnod:
I don't think a junk yard will want it.
No motor
No axles
No trans or transfer
The truck cab has been cut in half. (cab is shot)
The bed wheel wells have also been cut out. (bed is shot)
The truck is sitting on the rear springs and the front crossmember.
What the hell am I going to do with this thing ???
Roll me back over !!!

Try a scrap yard, not a junk yard, a metal recycling scrap yard, they may want to check title though before they crush it. Depends on the place.

Gas tank shouldn't matter as long as it's empty. Tow it or trailer it, I got $50 bucks for a hacked up ford p/u about 10 years ago.

get uhaul, put truck on it, remove tage and ids of all kind, drive to picknpull, preferable at night, tie truck to telephone pole, drive away, it'll fall off the trailer and you can go home. i do not condone this act in my current frame of mind, but in my youth, i did this 6 times. never heard a thing about it, i think that they look at it as free metal w/ no paper work, never investegated the vehicles. just how ive done it in the past

If the frame is good, turn it into a buggy or a rail of some sort!  Around here the meth users are stealing anything that can be scraped.  They are going as far as to stealing guard rails, any vehicle that has been sitting for some time, and the most dangerous has been, that they are actually cutting powerlines down, the aluminum ones!  We had someone steal a old rusted out bus, farm tractor, and implement equipment from a local farm.  I guess china has been buying all the scrap metal that they can get all their hands on.  So, I would place a few phine calls to your local scrap yard.  Our dump/landfill service will actually pay for scrap metal!
Miss ya Dean (4THEWKN) & Kyle (KYOTA)!!

Some buddies, acase of beer and a sawsall or grider for each of them.  Six of us cut an '85 up in four hours, and it was much more coplete than yours and we were saving things.  Speaking of which send me the drivers side interior door handle.
