IS this a good idea
« on: Oct 16, 2005, 09:55:24 PM »
Whats up everyone,  I'm new on here and i thought this would be the appropriate subject to get some advice.   I just recently stumbled across a 79' grand wagoner.  360 Ci. d-44's ect...   The motor and driveline is all there but that is about the extent of it.  It also already has 3" lift on it (blocks only).  I am really just looking for a nice rig to buy to haul stuff in during our excursions.  I know it needs some serious body work, but who cares) and there is little rust where it matters.  By the way i am only getting it for $200.  Should i make this a trail/recovery rig or should i just take what i know i can get some money for.  In other words am i getting in over my head or not?   Let me know what you guys think.

           PS

that could be a great trail rig or mild crawler if built right, body dont matter, and if worse comes to worse, part it out for a few grand and profit on the whole deal!!! :beerchug:

Do you really think that i could get away with making that much off of it.  If so i might be better off just taking the money and putting it into my current vehicle.

Buy it. Worst comes to worst you get 500-1,000 dollars parting it out. Then use that money on your current rig. Be prepared to spend many hours taking parts out of the truck. Heck, you could even use the Dana 44's under your current rig.
