the front drop hanger bracket is done and mounted and I am super happy with it...the front springs are hung, but not finished and i still have to put the shackle holes through the frame once I build up my spring pack..oh.. and its pretty easy to mount 51 inch springs as well

hmmm, I also got my Kumhos on as well... they almost look small on that truck now  ...once I cut a partial wheel well in the back of the cab I think i should be able to fit 37s with no problem. 8)

there is 27 inches from the frame rail to the ground

here are the pics..

well, unfortunatelly I havent had much time to work on project "extend-a-toy" because I am hoping that the good folks at marlin will sell me a duel t-case setup when I have the cash next month. I was looking for a 3.4 but cant seem to find anything good right now.... I am going with a 3litre for a few years because I have a line on a lower km engine and tranny...
I have shifted direction over to my other truck for the time being till I get some marlin goodies... i ahve had time for a couple of lame microsoft paint images.... what do you think???  I prefer the blue one myself.. 8)
this should be what the final product should look like...

I like it, but can't decide which paint scheme looks better, though I have always been partial to the blue/orange/yellow/white scheme.

well, I finally got my entre drivetrain last week including , 3l engine, tranny, t-case, fuel tank, driveshafts, fuel tank, windshield, etc.

I have also tweaked my truck sketch to more of what I want the final product of my truck to look like.

this weekend I am gonna hopefully finish welding the roof of my truck and mabey start tackling some of the wiring.....

here are the pics:

Here's a suggestion to fitting some big meats on the rear of that truck.  Go to Home Depot and buy a wheel barrel bucket.  Cut out the rear corners of your extendo cab to clear whatever tires you are going to use.  Now cut up the pre-bent wheel barrel bucket to patch the holes in the corners of the cab.

The street scraping body dropped mini trucks have been doing this to there firewalls for years now to fit 20" wheels when fully laid out.

thanks for the suggestion..... I have it all figured out though and it should fit 39s with little rubbing..(in the rear anyways...)

why 3.0?

yeah, this has been asked a million times and my first response is usually..."so when I get my 3.4 it should just drop in :beerchug:
here are my other reasons though:

-because there are a million of them
-because there are quite a few people running them in my 4x4 group and have had awsome luck with them
-because they are 150 horsepower and I am tired of 22r or 22re  power or lack there of.
-because parts are dirt cheap for them
-because i cant find a 3.4 anywhere and when i can people think that they are worth twice their weight in gold
-because they are a very simple swap
-because everything included in this swap minus the marlin stuff but including the truck has cost me less than 1000 bucks.
-because its cheap to go marlin duel ultimate in a 3 litre drivetrain and not so cheap with 3.4 stuff unless you start swapping drivtrains stuff and i cant be bothered with the hassle.
-because I came across a low kilometer engine thats in good shape and still pulls good.

basically, it came down to doing a super cheap and simple swap. down the road when 3.4 equiped vehicles start showing up at junk yards for a better price than what they are now I will for sure look into doing that swap.
I own 3 landcruisers and this minitruck and I am a cruiser guy first and foremost (although my first truck was my 81 mini truck..) so I would rather spend the money on my main cruiser for wheelin then this truck... i am hoping though that doing this build will inspire me to enjoy minitrucks again and when that 3.0 litre isnt enough power for me, than that 3.4 will be next on the list in a couple of years.. (why does anyone need much more power over stock on a truck that Is going to spend a lot of its time at 200:1??)
