thanks.. 5.0 bolted right in with the NWOR motor mounts.. of course there were a million issues after that but all in all it was TOTALLY worth it. Being able to go up the hills as fast as you want is nice

Yep, I plan a full install writeup. I have read they are a pain and I will do my best to find the most painless way :)

brandon, those doors are looking sick.. remember phillp?  the guy with the rolled truck?  well we started making his doors and i think that we cut a little to low and we just might have to make em like you just did.  keep up the good work.....  :beerchug:
ah the beauty of a cuttin torch

Prismo

Brandon, you started this build up before I joined the board. If only I had been around before you started I could have saved you a lot of time and money. I mean all you really needed was this......

Actually, really nice job on the build up. I am continually amazed at the quality of the vehicles that are shown on this board.

i dont think your gunna be able to use the tranny that came with the mustang i might be wrong but i doubt it and ive been looking into this and it doesnt seem all that hard i might do this instead of the carbed 350 although a 383 with 450hp would be fun for as long as i can keep drive train parts under it

83yota

i run a 383 in my 72 blazer and it is awsome but 6 miles to the gallon sucks  :moon:

yeah that is the main thing keeping me from doing it

Brandon

my 5.ota gets better mileage than my V8 grand cherokee and well the numbers might not be there but I haven't been passed by any other rigs yet and most run chebby's ;)

You can use the T5 but I personally wouldn't..

I got lots of tech at RCRC..

guess I'll add to my update here :)

welded the AP JJ's onto some steel plate and put them together tonight. Gonna try something since I don't know what springs I want to use. I am going to weld some reciever tube to my frame and gusset it. It will have several different sets of holes in the bottom of it and this AP JJ setup will also have a few holes allowing it to be moved along the reciever tubing. I don't think it will look too hoaky but we'll see..

It should give me a bit of lift which I want..

Surprisingly easy to get the joints together after all I read. Here was my assembly tool.

What do you think of those greasable bolts ? I think there kind of cheesey myself , cause the grease zirk is not threaded in, just tapped it, I had to of them come out while I was greasing my JJ  :headshake:

At our shop, Andy, if you've ever seen his AMAZINGLY CLEAN buggy, did this using our Jonny Joints for his rear suspension and he loves em.

But its a buggy and not a daily driver, so.....

(sorry Brandon for kind'a hijacking your post, but the joints are related!!)

... our Jonny Joints

Hey I asked Geiger if you could get the JJ's and he said no..

I have ran front northwest off road greasable bolts for yeeeaaaars and no complaints - I really think it helped up front. As for the rear I am putting the zirks to the inside but we'll see if they stay on - my knuckles and driveshafts no longer have em ;)
