?s on shocks
« on: Apr 06, 2009, 05:02:47 PM »
I have a 85 pickup and has a stock suspension.  I am planning to buy some bilstiens and  have a few question:

How long of a shock can I run with the stock suspension?

If I put a shock hoop can I run a 10 in travel shock?  And will it help me give me more travel?

Thanks

Take the sway bar off and you'll have more travel, as to the other questions measure, measure and measure again. Once you figure out how much space you have between the eyes after you mount the hoops will tell you what size shock you'll need in stock trim.

^^ In that case leave the sway bar on, you can always remove it for the trail.

I've never noticed much of a difference with my swaybar removed except when you start modifying the springs to a soft setup.
