they work really good, I think for some one that has an IFS it would be REALY smooth. since mine is solid axle its still kinda rough of course, but it did smooth the ride up a bit. plus, they look cool! I took one off because it was leaking, its only lik 60 bucks too fix though so thats kool.

They say that RS5000s are the same as the 9000s set in the middle.  I drive around all day with my 9000s set in the middle.  5000s cost half as much.

Bilsteins are generally regarded as the best and cost about the same as the 9000s.

I run the older style rs9000's on my scout an liked them. And I also ran the old school in cab adjuster, had lots of problems w/ air lines leaking. the newer, more adjustable 9000x's have more adjustability. You have seen my truck(toyo) and i would reccomend either bilsteins, ore ome
85 p/u, marlin#208, built 22R on propane, old school longs, 5.29's / detroits, bobbed, chopped, and flopped

FIREBALL

Well I don't know who "they" are, but I used to run 5000's, first thing I bought for my yota 13 years ago, and I thought they were good until I put 9000's on, then I realized how crappy my truck was riding because of the 5's. I'm still running the 9's, but getting ready to switch to the bils. I've been pretty happy with the 9's though.

BigMike

Hey if you want a smooth ride, go pressurized gas shocks like KYB/Fox/Bilstien

Marlin's got R9000 and they hold the road well and are pretty good, but if you take them at speed over bumps, they ride like garbage. And everyone here who has Rancho's are thinking, "what's wrong with Mike? I Love the ride of my Rancho shocks" you're saying that because you've never driven a truck with pressurized shocks before-

The only reason that i thought that they rode better is because of me going from NAPA replacements to rs5000's, in my position wouldnt u think that they ride good?  :twocents:

I agree, even though I've only had the stock shocks and the 9000s.  I hear the same thing over on yotatech and 4x4wire and I'm a moderator at YT.  The #1 recommended shock on yotatech is bilstein.  And no, it's not just the street queens that say that.
