What would be some pro's and con's of rhino-lining the interior floor?

Nothing but positive as far as I see it. Go for it!
One down side is you just dont have that warm fuzzy feeling inside now.

i love my inner bed liner its not rhino but oh well didnt have the cash its nice to had i agree with whiteman no cons really everything is jsut rinsable and ready to go dont gotta mess with dirty carpets or anyhting like that!!

What about lining it, then putting carpet over it later down the road? Does it cause heat issues?

no would prob keep it more insulated to hold more heat in! less road noise is really all that would solve i guess a con would be it would be a little louder road noice wise but not to much of a difference

Well, you could line it and then just throw down some carpet floormats if you like that fuzzy feeling. I'm gonna do mine this spring sometime. The only drawback I see is the NHV factor but who cares if your running mud tires and off road suspension. I get sick of vacuuming and having brown carpet caked with mud. I'm keen on the idea of just hosing that mug out.

I have an 85 runner and it has the vinal fatory flooring and i wanna put carpet in it I dont know why but it isnt as comfy as my tacoma floor was and i think that it will contribute to keeping it warmer inside too, the road noise is also a big issue for me i am leaving my factory exhaust on as well because i hate loud noises while driving for long distances

I have been thinking about the herculiner once i bob my bed. I would do it inside as well, but I am not sure of the durability of herculiner. You can get 1gal for 26$ out of JC Whitney.

I don't think noise would be too much of an issue, especially if you plan on using carpet later on. If you're having somebody do it for you they can lay it on as thick as you want, and it can either be smooth or textured. The texturing isn't natural but is actually done by making quick passes over it to make it chunky. The biggest downside I see is the cost, that stuff isn't cheap!

I would like to have the inside of my cab done, floors, back wall and roof and inside doors. That should make for a fairly quiet ride!

I have roll-on Hurculiner from K-mart that worked fairly well for about $80. The main problems with it were my patience and not the product. It has a fairly rough surface which likes to hold dirt. I would go with a smooth finish if it were an option. If you are willing to take the time, you can roll it on and save some cash, plus it looks good enough for a trail rig. I finally did mine because I kept finding water under the flooring. It does add significantly to the road noise, my biggest complaint when driving on the highway.

I did the Herculiner to mine. Got the liner at Kragen Autoparts on sale for 60 bucks a while back. Used two cans to do my interior and bed. It it pretty tough (so long as you clean and sand everything down so it can stick). It does collect dirt, and just rinsing it out is more easily said than done. Still I like it.

I have had Herculiner in the cab of my truck for almost 3 years now. The main reason I put it in was I couldn't keep the dog hair out of the carpet. Its nice to just pull the drain plugs and hose it out.

the only down side i can see to the spray in liners ryno, linex, ect it if you have them lay it on thick then the weaght could be an issue cuz it will add up if layed down thick

Most Rhino-liners I have seen have been stained with mud, or worse yet, the red clay south of STL. I was thinking it would be hard to clean too. You would have to use a brush or powerwasher (?) to get it clean. The smoother coating might be a better choice. Well not really smooth, but in between rhino liner and the glossy liner type. Maybe like the Durabak?

What would be the point if it's just as hard to clean as carpet?

I am planning on doing a liner prodect on my bed after I bob it to hide the seam on the inside and to cover up all the scrapes and gouges in the bed. I have taken my carpet out of the cab because it got soaked from a leaky window so I am planning on having the floor done also. I dont want the doors done though. Just imagine how raw it would rub you leaning out the door on a long trail.

I've got 1 gallon and 1 quart of Herculiner to do the complete tub of my 4Runner. I plan on taking the broken side panels off, making some steel metal ones, and coating them as well. My brother has his Jeep Wrangler tub done and the only thing is it fades.

RESURRECTION:

My 2004 Tundra had spray-in bedliner in the bed when I bought it used.

Even after 2 years it still smelled like butt!

It was way too slick so stuff would slide around easily.

I will never put that crap in one my vehicles..... but I live in sunny AZ so there isn't much "rust" on a vehicle.
