I love my dovetail.  Makes loading and unloading very easy without ramps.  Alot of people dont like them because they drag going in and out of driveways and stuff, but I have never drug mine.  Its a carson, which is definately one of the cheaper brands, but it works fine.  Loading vehicles that are really low to the ground is easier too.  My 2 cents.

Ok.  It really comes down to personal preference then.  Basically the only thing is you probably wouldnt need ramps with the dove tail, and you might need ramps if its a regular flat bed.  Idk.  Some people always use ramps, some people never do.  I like skipping the hassle of using them.... not really a big deal though.  Also, like i said before, if you know you will be towing it through steep driveways/sidewalks (you know what I mean)  then you may want to consider a flat bed.  Mine only drops down like 4 inches in the back so its not too bad.

If you are just hauling your crawler I wouldn't necessarily go looking for a beaver tail trailer. You would probably be able to find a reg. flat bed for a lot cheaper. That's what I have and I can drive me Yota on it no problem with out ramps. You can always mess with tire size on the trailer to get the height you need.

I personally like a dovetail trailer. Mainly because I haul a lot of lowered Honda's and it is easier. With my flat bed trailer I have to drive my trucks rear tires up on car ramps to get the rear of the trailer down and the front bumper still hits a little. However with my Toyota it doesn't matter. I just leave it in 4wd and drive up with no ramps. But if you break your truck and don't have a winch it is a little harder to push the truck on the trailer because the ramps are steeper.
