:shocking:Man it's been a while sence I posted last - new board and all. It's been like five months in the works but he's done - Bender that is :eyebrow: Ok - The changes list 1. converted over to EFI  complete wiring harness change, head redone with new LC Engineering Street performer cam and new Toyota rockers  :disturbed: I love the skinny pedal. 2. removed most of cab and exo-ed the rest. 3. repositioned rear shocks and installed orbital shackles . 4. Installed a new aluminum fuel cell and a external early 80's Celica fuel pump :_order: :flamer:. 5. Installed four point seat belts. 6. Made new auxliary dash for fuel and oil pressure guages with light switches. 7. New cobra CB and antena - awesome. 8. Installed front 1 1/2" wheel spacers and replaced lock out hub mounting studs (Weak piont) 9. Fabricated and installed front and rear diff protection.
WHEW - did I forget something??? Well anyway,  :beerchug: We went to Disney OK (our club) and had a great trip over the holiday. I'm the only Toy and most everyone else runs Jeeps, one scout and one ford ranger. I'm the only one that didn't break - on Benders maiden voyage also :beerchug: Well enough Bla Bla Bla - look at some photos

Thanks for the compliments guys.
Marlin----your next---phase three.
I got an R-151 to rebuild and need to install dual cases with 4.7.
I'm going to cut out the tranny tunnel, raise the tranny and flat belly my cross member.
Use 125 pipe for the new rear drive shaft and possibly rotate the knukles on the front diff housing.
This thing also needs hydraulic assit steering also.
And lastly a winch.
Over the next winter I guess :eyebrow:

Nice work!  I really like what you have done to it.  The tunnel isnt all that hard to do, mine was super simple to do Id have to imagine yours would be as well.  I have pics of both the tunnel and the flat bellycross member in the buildup thread titled $300, or I could post them here if you'd like.

"It's too Pretty"  :shake_head: :shake: This ain't no mall curzer, it gets a hard workout everytime we go wheelen. I can't always stay out of the mud as I'm in the midwest and most of the time were forced to dive through it just to wheel - it washes off but I still hate it. Rockcrawlers hate mud but my TSL SX's don't... Tree roots in a creek bottom did the damage to the cab in the first photo.

WT - Any ideas you have would be helpful as I'm collecting tech info for this project. I'm considering using a Budbuilt flat cross member also.

Thumper - Yep Disney over the holiday weekend and yep little blue - piece of cake. We're going back later this summer so keep in touch and we'll hook up and have some fun. We had one Jeep in our club roll down the stair case and broke his right dana steering knukle we rewelded it twice and it finailly held up. Another Jeep in our club was climbing the stair case and started wheel hopping - he didn't let up and girnaded his transfercase housing and out put shaft - found some spare parts and he was running a day later.
The rocks down there are like mother natures concrete, nothing crubbles up, you get allot of traction. Were not use to that, we end up in loose linestone mostly so momentum and the skinny pedal help out around here. But we love down there and WILL be BACK. I almost screwed my drive shaft into two pieces again down there, it's got a corkscrew grove about a 1/2" deep about 15" long. It held up the rest of the weekend and I had spares but I'm replacing it with something 1/4" thick. Stair Case got it at the top but I made it...

Ok WT - looks great

Crossmember - is that 1 1/2 square tubing? and did you slice and weld the outside rails to make your radius?
How did you secure the crossmember to the frame rails? Sucks welding Toyota floor boards huh? Too thin of metal -  :flamer:spot weld  :flamer:spot weld  :flamer:spot weld - and I use .023 wire for everything. How did you reinforce your floor board after cutting out the tunnel?

I'm not worried about changing my floor board around, it's mostly welded solid to the frame now - along the rock sliders

1" x 1/8" tube.  yep I sliced and welded it to conform to the frame.  I had issues welding the floor on my 81 but on the 3rd gen its pretty thick really.  I am using .30 wire and I can actually run beads which is a shocker in itself as I make boogers on 1/4 plate but I can run pretty nice beads on this sheet metal.  :dunno:  To reinforce the floor I used some scrap tubing from the crossmember and welded stands up from the crossmember with the origional front solid axle bumpstops on the end to support the floor.  To attach it to the frame I cut 8 3" x 3/8" plates, I drilled them as pairs and tapped one of each pair to 1/2 x 13 thread.  I bolted them together and cut the extra off of the end of them.  Then I just got the crossmember into postition and set the plates on top of it and tacked everything together.  Then I just unbolted the crossmember, pulled it out finish welded the plates to it and finished the plates on the frame.  I think this is about the easiest and strongest setup as you not only have the 8 bolts to deal with shearing but the frame plates would have to totally rip the frame apart in order for them to fail.
