Topic: Planning 85 EFI 4x4 straight axle 3RZ swap

Planning a project, and want to get it started the right way...and with as few headaches as possible.

What I've got is an 85 Ext Cab 4x4 EFI Straight axle with a W56 Manual trans.

What I'm looking for is info on what 3RZ to look for. I can get a good deal on a 98 2.7 with ECU from an automatic 2wd truck. Would this be a good idea? If so, what else am I going to need to mate the 2.7 with the W56 and the 85 EFI wiring?

Well, picked up the 1998 3RZ today...Including 2wd auto ECU, Engine wiring harness, cab harness, all hoses, and engine accessories including O2 sensors for $400...Thought I couldn't go wrong there.

My understanding is that I still need to obtain:

W59 Bellhousing
3RZ Flywheel and Clutch
3RZ Manual ECU
T100 Rear sump conversion

If someone has some info they wish to contribute as for parts required, tip/tricks, anything at all, It would be greatly appreciated!!!

I'll have to get some pics posted as soon as I figure out how to

Well, got some pics of the engine on the stand...











Now just gotta clean it up, and start piecing together all the stuff for the project...and figure out how to merge the wiring together  Yikes
