ok, I want to do a rear axle e-locker and disk brake upgrade on my 84 toy pickup.  From what I understand I can use a rear axle from a v6 pickup or 4runner that is leaf sprung and it will bolt up albeit 3" wider.  Or am I up in the night? gurus please respond

any truck axle from 86-95 will work for you.  it is in fact 3 in. wider overall and has bigger brakes to boot.  youll either need to raise your lspv to the bed floor or take it out and install a proportioning valve to still have good brakes.  I have always just raised the bar to the bed and it always works fine for me.  when you get the axle from the donor truck make sure you get the e-brake cables too cause they are 3 in. wider too. good luck!

Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

and you may have to cut off the old sring seats and weld new ones  in board
A good day working, that's just sick :reg:

96 and later used wider perches as well so you would have to cut these off and weld new ones back on but 86-95 should do just what you want. and you can use a transfer case e brake or get the eldorado calipers for your rear disc conversion so you won't need the e brake  cables from the newer axle you will need them for the caddilac e brakes or the transfer case barake set up
too much spent to go slow
too much spent to stay low
too much spent on the go
but it's fun you know
