F150 Spring Questions.
« on: Mar 19, 2006, 12:00:48 PM »
YES I searched, and didn't find what I was looking for. I want to go with F150's for my truck but don't know what ones I need for my application. I've got an 85 ext cab, currently with a 6 inch Skyjacker kit. I want to keep the same lift hieght so I can go to 35's when I wear the 33's out. I'm planning a flat bed, that might be a little on the heavy side (covered overbed rack and tool boxes with my recovery gear and extra parts and such). I know there's a couple diffrent lengths and widths. I'd like to go with the 56 inchers, and probably going to need the 3 inch wide variety. What app. did they come in so I know what to order? I know 3" is the 4x4 model, but what years had 56's? Do I just use some junkyard F150 hangars and shackels?

Bronco and F150 are the same so you can look for either one.

yea  the 2wd  springs have more arch :yesnod:  the spring hanger is mad to pull down on the rear of the spring instead of like the toy , that pushes down on the spring

:disturbed:   does that make since :dunno:

Not really, but I think I know the system you're talking about, my dads 70' F100 had the same deal.

So what did you guys that run them do for hangars? Even with Ford's you'd have to mod them since Ford mount's the hangars to the outside of the rail, instead of underneath yota style. Thanks for all the help, I have 6 months to build this truck basicly stock to finish, we've had it 1 day and my dad is already on my ass to start ordering things. One other thing, 44044's bolt straight up in the front with the exception of the shackle correct?

I can build my own hangars, and marlins 5 inchers are out of stock, so once I get the rear end suspension sorted, I think I'm going to go with some All-Pro 5" fronts.

I don't see any 3 inch hangars in the Marlin online catalog Glen. Chevy springs are the same width aren't they? I'd like to just get a SKY swap kit, and I know at least one post I saw on Pirate said chev's needed a 3 inch hangar, but I want to be sure before I spend the money.
