Toyota T100 SAS spring questions
« on: Jun 19, 2013, 08:01:58 AM »
I am doing an SAS on my 96 Toyota T100 SR5 3.4L V6. I am going to run a set of Dana 60's with 5.13 gears and 37's. The truck itself weighs roughly 4000lb. I am thinking roughly 7 inches of lift in total in order to allow for the springs to settle and still maintain clearance.

Here is my dilemma... I am not sure what springs to run. I have heard good and bad things about Alcan but they seem to be the best price for custom springs. I have only heard good things about Atlas spring but their prices were high. I have looked at AllPro and Trailgear but I have heard mixed things about these as well. I haven't been able to find Marlin springs but I have heard good things about them.

What do you guys think or suggest?

Not sure about Marlin springs, pretty sure they were AP springs. Check out Davez OffRoad for spring options. Alcans are really good if you can afford them. Also, there is Old Man Emu. Or build your own packs  :dunno:

I have figured that out... but thanks for informing me. But is going with custom springs better than standard springs other than the cost? If going with off the shelf springs what brand performs better and last longer?

Done some more research and have come to some conclusions... sort of lol. I have talked to Alcan and Atlas and they both are rather expensive. I have found a set of front leafs made by Dave's Off Road Performance and from what I have heard they are pretty good springs. But I may bight the bullet and go full custom springs.

I just looked around on the website, it looks like they sell TG as well as their own brand.

Ya they sell Trailgear springs but they make there own springs as well. I am looking at Dave's springs because its the exact amount of lift I am looking for... 7" lift over all.
