Front Spring Bushing Questions
« on: Jul 04, 2008, 03:46:29 PM »
Ok, here comes some really noob questions. I am building a front pack for my truck and I need new bushings. :help: My bolts and bushings are all very reluctant to move and I cannot get anything apart. It is being a PITA.

#1: Which bushings out of the three choices do I need?

#2: What locations do the bushings from the above choice go?

#3: Do I or should I use new bolts and new nuts?

#4: What length would I need?

#5: Would I be better off just buying a shackle kit for it (I would buy a rear kit too)?

I think these are all the questions I have right now. Money is not a huge issue, that is why I threw #5 in there.

Thanks in advance for any responses, I appreciate it greatly.

you need 4 of the "frame tube" bushings, and 12 of the shorter bushings

i would just reuse your bolts

Thank you Glen. So 4 13210 and which part number is the other bushing? Is that to do all of the spring/shackle bushings, or just the front? I think I will have to get a few new bolts since I really screwed up a couple. So that brings up question #4. I really appreciate the help.

Ok, I believe I need the 18 x 150mm bolts for the frame mounting and 18 x 120mm bolts for the shackles. Is this correct?

I went the cheap way and used half inch grade 8's and ran a 1/2 in drill bit through the holes of my bushings.  I had to cut all the bolts off and drill out the bushings though, everything was jizzunk.

edit:  front bolts I think I used 3/4 inch.  Beef.
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5
