I went found two tcases for 100 bucks each, but missed them, they were in clovis, then went to work in fresno for a couple days, then got home to look on cpu to find out sale fell through and I could have purchased one for 90 bucks.  that sucks.  Thanks thomas, I'll hit up donnie.

Why is front shackle rubbing on frame? Is it hitting body mount? Maybe need boomers? Pics

I got some shackles that would most likely have fix that problem depending on how its hitting I had them on my toy and they never rubber frame once.

it is just scraping not bad, they are my new greasable all pro ones.  they are coming into contact with the weld on the body mount bead.

are your shackles centered in the body mount, or more forward?

Hmmmm, weird. Mine are almost in the same spot, just a tad more forward, but that rubbing has nothing to do with how forward they are, or the shackle itself. Is the bushing new? That looks like the shackle is leaning in the tube. Truck looks good though. When you plan on takin it out to the snow? We gettin a bit right now.

Yeah, it is all new from the all pro kit, everything is tight, When I mentioned it I didn't mean to make it sound like it was impeading anything.  I plan on going up tomorrow morning, meeting thomas at the gas station, some other people are probably going too, not sure though.

Not sure about new years, my girl sorta parties, I don't do anything and I will have the kid and he is only three, only going if I can get grandma to watch him, probably will she hasn't watched him in awhile.  I'm thinking a washer will fix that contact if it hasn't already, it was very minimal.

So I found a t case with a couple billstein shocks for a hundred bucks, got them quickly at lunch, shocks are too small I  think only 10in of travel, but oh well.  now I found a supra with straight six and possi for 350 bucks, hell yes.  Now I just wonder how hard of a swap that will be, kid has battery voltage to fuel pump but no pressure and also missing a windshield, I will pull the engine with harness and brain, rear axle, attempt to part the rest out and then scrap yard.  we will see.  I have a daily driver car lined up so I can park my truck to mess with it.

for some reason I thought this guy said there was a 5 not a 7, but maybe i'm trippin, not turbo though, I don't think,  I was working and conversation was short.  I am going to call him tomorrow, do you know as year or years that would be ideal?

as for update on the old pick up truck, I successfully inverted one of my shackles, shortly after I noticed an un even pattern on one front tire, realized that shackle inversion probably altered my thrust angle or possibly I just need an alignment.  Also recieved my 4.88's today and now just need to put together my third with my detroit and put it in along with my V6 with LSD I have had in a bucket for the front. My second case is sitting by the front door with my boots and I need an adapter for that.  I have recently come to a situation in the shop I work in where the customer cant afford to replace the transmission in his 82 4x4 toyota pickup.  Hmmmm.  I offered him 300 bucks.  still waiting for a response.

thanks, that is quite a difference, there would be no point in doing a swap for the 5.

Still no gears or lockers put in yet, but now I am wondering if anyone has ever seen a 4.0L out of a lexus LS400 swapped in to a truck like mine and if so back to the adapter plate for transmission, No way will I drive a automatic, just my preference no insult intended for others.  Found the entire car considering trading for my poor neglected dirt bike.

So I am back, now that my tires are close to bald I have some money saved up.  I will be putting my 4.88 and lockers in over the next couple weeks and now I have a spare forward shift tranny and t case and two top shift t cases in my closet.  I have been looking at adapters, I have recently talked to a guy that does some pro :pokinit: down south and says he will only run advance adapter for dual cases, he is running 49's under a ford 390 or some :pokinit: on dana 60's, but my point is plenty of juice and no fail.  i would have to say I have heard of marlins failing a number of times.  What should I do?  A third option?  No 4.7 yet, I will rebuild the top shift I don't use and gear it later like next year.  Or have I heard more about marlins failing because no one uses the other stuff??  I need to do this before I change my mind.
