I have had my truck for a couple years now, I am tired of getting stuck lifting tires not even far enough from the concrete to lose sight.  I have purchased an all pro straight axle kit, some gussets and armor, along with rebuild for my straight axle I got from an 85 with 22re.   Lift is 5 in for front, when done we will play with srings we have laying around, prob mix and match some F-150 springs for the back since they are already flipped.  In the mean time looking for a couple thirds from auto V6, no luck yet then we will lock and dual with 4.7 in back case.  I also need tires too  with that suggestions on size?  Only thing i have done is new Napa clutch and a Doug T. header.  Will 37/12.50/15 go well on an 8 in. rim?  should I go 10?

if you are planning on airing down, an 8 inch rim will be perfect. but if you plan to go wider than 12.5 go with a 10 in rim. oh and :worthless: :gap:

Me and Thomas P have been working on this for a couple hours every night after work.. Started sunday  night, and have put about 5 hours in it so far, maybe a little more.

Tonight we got the axle armor welded on and ready to go, just waiting for the allpro kit to arrive so we can put the front axle back together and get it under the truck.

So far we have left:

Paint axle.
Assemble axle.
hang axle under truck.
Shocks/brake lines/etc..
move steering box forward.

and we shall be done with the sas.

Not too bad for cut off wheels and a sawzall saw eh?  :booya:

Yeah, I didn't think to take pics before I left your place, even had my camera with me before I came up and took it out of the truck.  As you see my thread was worthless and mike was helping.  I am pretty sure I will go with 37/14.00-15 Iroks on some 15x10 or I might buy some used 35's I found with rims for 125$  Only prob back space is 4 in and I don't want my truck to touch it self.

Go with the 36 inch Iroks they are actually bigger than the 37's And I would suggest going with a 15 by 8 inch rim with a 2.5 backspace.. You'll most likely never blow a bead with them

Dingman.

You are probably gonna want bigger tires than 35"s with the 5" kit.  37"s would probably be perfect I think..    If you look online on the interco tire site I believe the 37" iroks bias ply are smaller than the 36"s.    But in the radial version I beileve that the 37"s are taller

Dingman.

Dammit Kasey I didn't know you posted that just before me.   Lol.  I agree with Kasey.

I think that 5" spring set is gonna be way to tall, we will see, im gonna predict swapping out some leaves for some nice flat flexy stock ones. What do you guys think? Stock rear mains and the military wrap to push the axle forward and to lower it slightly?

well i'm not sure the back space of my current rim, they are already 15x8 and the 36 iroks are 40 bucks cheaper for the set shipped.  After seeing the old pics of thomas's truck with 35's they are too small.  Did you guys get anything done tonight?  I left those bearings by the garage and called thomas and told him.

How much lift is on your truck Thomas?

Hard to say, 3" body, 3" shackle (or something) 4" springs front but swapped main for stock rear mains. F-150s rear. Id say 7-8"

If its not raining and I get off of work early back to the junk yard, prob wont get third from chico, seems like a 105.xx is a bit much for a junk yard part.  will look for springs, trevor said he has a rear brake line for me.

He wants my motor bad.

I don't think we should swap out the main leafs.  If anything maybe pull a leaf out to lower it a little. The all pro leafs are a badass setup, I love how mine ride.  We will expeirment with it and see for sure

P-DiseToy24

I just think everyone up there should know what happened.
I had a 23 spline input and output dual with a 4.7 in my 85 all cryod heat treated the whole deal..... well Walton needed a set of case right away and his had a blown output bearing and the one he ordered wouldnt be there in time. So tryin to help a dude out, and after a few days of begging.  I traded him he gave me a box of a parts which he said was "GOOD TO GO" stuff but it was only 23 rear and all TG so mine was worth a lot more..so he gave me an RC too.  I trusted him and didn't go through the parts... I honestly didn't think I needed to, but obviously I did which is sad.
So I go to put the cases together a few days back and find out there are numerous parts missing.... bearings, sleeves gears... That not all either. There was a blown 2.28 gear and 2 blown output bearings. One I knew about the other I did not. There are cracks to big to run in the case it self too. I don't know about you guys but that doesn't seem like 'Good to go" parts.  I dude has ripped me off years ago and I thought he changed he admitted it and said sorry and he was wrong so I thought I could trust him.... well I was wrong.
Now that im 600 miles away there isn't a whole lot that I can do but tell everyone still up there to watch out and to know that JASON WALTON is a no good prick who can not be trusted.

P-Towner Here, I'll keep that name in mind, dirt bag stuff there.  Anyhow, I picked up some F-150 rear springs, now still waiting for the company I purchased my lift from.  They Have failed to meet the 3-5 business days.  Monday or Tuesday they claim.  Next build will be all mine, this stuff is fun, different than building Fast cars.  That is what I usually do.

Here is a picture of the front axle, looks just like every other axle but i said i would document this build for you man.   Gonna get some paint on it today and that is really all we can do at the moment.

Once we get the sas kit we can put the axle back together since it comes with the rotors and highsteer arms, no point in setting it up to have to tear it apart again to get those on it.
After we have the axle done we will get it attached to the truck and then we can work on moving the ifs box forward and be done with the sas.

That is just one tire Thomas has in his garage, I just ordered the set of 36 iroks. I was going to do my best not to cut anything on the outside anyway.
