May ge going a slightly different direction with the engine. I took the head from my 82 2wd into work, cleaned it up some and took it apart. Spent a loooong time trying to clean the years of grunge off, put it on the glass table and it seemed fairly flat. Grabbed my feeler gauges and found a slight gap, a bigger gap, then found .015 gap

The pisser of it is I can't just clean it up and slap it on the truck now, gotta either have it shaved or find another.
Looks like it'll cost more than I can afford to spend right now to fix the 2wd. I'm thinking I'll take the 22r block out of the 82, clean it up and swap over my 20r head and switch to the 4wd pickup and pan. That'll atleast get me closer to getting the 4by back on the road, then I can either find another good 22r head later or save up to get the machine work done and install it on the over-bored 20r block and stick that in the 2wd.
Nothing is set in stone, just kinda weighing my options.
