Not anything special, just throw in whatever vegies you like, throw in your favorite spices and a little somethin for juice, cause venison is very lean and won't make much of it's own. I had good results adding barbecue and teriyaki sauce with mine. I haven't dont one in several years, but I used to run the pot on high for a couple hours or so before going to bed, set it to low before going to bed then shut it off in the morning.
Works really well for venison stew too. Probably would work pretty well for bear stew too
