The TacoRunner ITS FOR SALE
« on: Jan 23, 2009, 01:22:51 PM »
so here is the new build.  i have been workin on it for a few months now a little here and a little there but it is commin together.  after rollin my truck i bought a 95 4runner SR5 with a bad :pokinit: 3.0 and an automatic tranny. so i decided to do a swap, out with the 3.0 crap and in with the 3.4 and 5speed.  when i had my mind mad up what was going to happen a ordered some things from Offroad Solutions i got the wire harness and some other little goodies plus the cross over pipe.  then it was time to start workin and drinkin some beers .

so here is what it looked like when i got it home

the old :pokinit: 3.0

the new   3.4

i used the EVAP and the rest of the smog from the Tacoma

now that i am going to be using a 5speed i had to mount the clutch master cylinder, which bolted right in with a few mods that wernt to hard, the clutch pedal out of the Tacoma worked to. and once the tranny was in i know how much i have to cut out of the floorboard

i used the intake off a 01 tacoma and had to make a intake mount that i welded to the fuse box mount which worked out nice

i also did a little body work on the front driver side fender

now i am held up on the exaust cause the cross over pipe i got did not clear the slave cylinder, i tried to bend it out but that did not work eather so i have to make some kind of new down pipe for it

i'm assuming there must be an adaptor for attaching gear cases to the tacoma 5 speed?  i'm not real up to par on my adaptors.

ya marlin makes one i think that it would be cheaper than tryin to swap input shafts and bellhousings

let me know when you figure out where to put the resistor on the tach as I just did a swap for my buddy and I need to figure out the tach fix as well.... I cant get his motor to rev up... it runs great at an idle but will not rev up for some reason....
