Had to get out of the house today. Took the kiddo for a little scenic drive.  Did about  60 miles on dirt or so.

Not much to report. I took the light bar off for giggles. It is really loud on the freeway. Might play around with some A pillar pods. My kiddo and i went camping and had a great time. I dont get out as much as I want due to Covid and ongoing home projects. Jeep has been solid though so far. Oh yeah dont mind the missing fender. it only had a couple clips holding it on and it rattled off when i was on the dirt road.

Glad to see you and your kid out enjoying the beautiful outdoors.

Being the jeep knower you are, can you answer this question? I replaced all of the front control arm bushings in my friends 2012 Saturday. Why on earth did they put the bolt from the inside to outside on the upper passenger mount? That son of a gun required the exhaust to be dropped to get it out. Ofcourse I didnt. I bent the bracket enough to get the bolt out. Then straightened it back in place and pur the bolt in from the outside.

That is a gorgeous spot! any chance you could tell where you went? I don't have a rig built yet but thinking of getting into a cheaper minivan for me and the girls to do the same kind of camping. I was looking for a cheap fj80 or sequoia. heck maybe even xJ if cheap enough.

Speaking of engineers, I would speculate that it's related to the lack of foresight that a lot of auto manufacturers have when designing cars. They don't always consider future repairs and it's possible that on the assembly line that bolt is installed before the exhaust so there's not an interference issue.  This is one thing that Toyota is historically superior at.

I would bet the assembly line worker is standing in the engine bay under the vehicle installing the bolts on both sides to minimize movements with no thought of you having to remove it later. also they need to drive up the billable hours for the techs later as well to keep making money off most after they sell the cars. lol

I have been thinking about getting an e-bike too. Not a commuter though. maybe something that could keep up with Zippo's KTM?
