G54 transmission input bearing upgrade?
« on: Mar 26, 2015, 08:30:18 PM »
I have a 1982 Toyota RV that I have been gathering parts to make it a 4x4.

I bought a transmission from an unknown donor truck years ago, and was pleasantly surprised to find out it is a G54, and not the G52. It has the 23MM thick input bearing.

But the input bearing has a lot of play in it.

What kind of input bearing can I upgrade to? Can I go even thicker? What kind of input shaft bearing does Marlin put in?

It's an RV so I want it to be strong, but I will be running stock tires and a stock 22R. (Carbureted)
