Newb here.

I have a 93 pickup with a W56-E and need to replace the input shaft bearing but I'm having a hard time determining which one I need. The Marlin chart shows 35TM11UR and 35TM11NX1 for the W56-D and W59 but does not show a bearing for the W56-E.

I know the best way would be to look at the one I have in it now but I would like to get the bearing and gaskets/seals before dropping the trans.

Any help would be appreciated!

In case anyone was dying to know, my w56 had a 6307-N input bearing and a NUPK220556 countershaft bearing. I don't think it was the original trans since it was all sealed up with blue silicone.

As far as removing them, Tractor Supply Co. has an 8" 3 jaw puller that worked great for the input shaft and a small pry bar works nicely on the countershaft as long as you protect the gear underneath it.

I have ordered the bearings and hope this takes care of my whiny transmission.

Did it do the trick? I have a bad whine in mine as well in all gears for 4th. Debating what to do...

It fixed the bearing noise I had when it was in neutral and the clutch was not pressed in. The most work is removing the transmission from the vehicle. I think 3 or 4 of the bearings are easily accessible when you split the case. I wasn't motivated or confident in my skills to disassemble it further.

I did have other whines that I have now determined to be the rear pinion bearing. I replaced the third member and all axle bearings and seals while I was at it. It's smooth and quiet now.
