I think you mean Kane Springs campground. By the way sqWADoosh, I'm trying to find a way to make it to your trip

Dude I would be so stoked if you could.

SqWADoosh, we just got back from our Moab trip in April of this year, small group of four. It was the first time we had every been there for three of us. This was a useful tool http://www.traildamage.com/google_utah.php for us. We found the description pretty accurate. We started the first day with a the trail "Top of the world" which was a trail as close to what we normal wheel to get used to this area. From there we wanted to test our vehicles, test our self and enjoy some of the most beautiful sceney we had ever seen! The scenery made the 24 hour one way there worth it!
Sounds like you are going to have a great time out there.Wish ya'll the best on your trip.

Nothing puts a smlie on my face like the green glow of 4x4 on the dash !

Man I thought you were from the future when I first saw that picture. That 4Runner playing tail gunner looks just like HeliPilot's. What a cool bunch of yotas you guys got there. Top of the world hasn't been on my radar yet. I'll have to check it out. Your 24 hour drive makes our 16 look a little more reasonable. I hope to see more pics and video in a thread about the trip! Thanks for stopping by and sharing.

I will be impressed if you actually pull off the trip in 16 hours driving time. I am always closer to 19, I think, with a single rig a not more than two people needing to potty!

Well we are breaking up the drive into 2 days. So however long it takes us to get to Boise and then however long it takes us to get to Moab from Boise.

Check out the time stamp at the end of this video.  I'd like to know why it took them that long, but it goes to show that the Golden Spike trail is no joke.

Cool Thanks. Isn't LittleSteve in England or somewhere close to there? That would be awesome.

Yes he is from England. He will be making an extended trip to the US in September for the roundup and very possibly this trip as well.

Well I'm afraid that I have decided to cancel this trip. I have some unseen expenses in August and September that would really put me in an uncomfortable position if I was to take this trip as well as go to the roundup. I have decided to go to the roundup and go to Cruise Moab in the spring instead. I believe this is a wise decision seeing as I probably got in over my head leading an expedition to Moab when I have never wheeled it myself and don't know any of the lines. This way I can go and learn the lines via those who know them best and bring an expedition in 2017 hopefully. I apologize for anyone this effects. It was not my intention for it to go down this way I simply had to make a tough decision that I think is going to be the best for me. The good news is this will free up 5 days of vacation for me so I have spoke with the other members of the Washington convoy to the roundup and it looks like we will be extending our California trip by a couple days and are going to run Fordyce as well as the Rubicon.

Bummer,  just a note on cruise moab. Don't expect to learn the right lines as all obstacles are off limits during the event. For example on hells revenge they won't allow you to do hells gate, hot tubs or the escalator. Something to do with their permits and lack of insurance. Better and cheaper to go with friends and use charles wells book. Cruise Moab is an expensive circus.

Really, now? That makes no sense how all obstacles are off limits?

Surely if it falls over its your own stupid fault?

Andrew, i think you're cancelling the wrong trip. The Rubicon trail is just a single trail very similar to trails you already go on in Washington. Moab is like Disney world for off roading. It's a completely different landscape than what your used to. It's epic on a grand scale. I'm a little biased though as I don't consider myself a rock crawler. I understand though that this is MCR and it's more than that. If you change your mind,  let me know. I would like to meet you guys out there.

Trust me brother it pains me to do it. I just simply can't afford to do that trip. There is a lot more money involved in that one. I have to pay for all of the gas to and fro as well as a week's worth of wheeling where as the roundup trip I'm splitting with RockCrawlingJK. I have to pay for a week's worth of camping as well as food and drink where as once again I'm going to be splitting with Drew on the roundup trip. Also my girl is not able to come in September due to her schedule and I can't go to Moab without her. It would break my heart to have to leave her behind while I go to the most beautiful place and she has to stay home. There are some other factors at work as well and everything is just pointing to it not being the right time to go. If you say that Cruise Moab is :pokinit: than I believe you. I would like to go to your yearly trip this upcoming spring if you will have us?
