The world becomes so much flatter when you get SASed!  I like your coating. Is this a bedliner product?

Only way I have ever gotten them off is with two 14mm end wrenches. You are right there isn't enough room for a ratchet. I have heard that you can take the yoke apart and grind on it to get more angle out of it. High angle driveline can make a brand new driveline for you application if you have the money.

I was able to use a shallow socket with a wobbly extension and get in there, just gotta find the sweet spot as far as clearance. Once it broke loose then you can loosen it by hand and take the bolt out. And i think im gonna get a custom long slip driveline made by either tom woods or Drivelines northwest, my company has an account with drivelines northwest so we will see how much it is haha

Rusty78364

Btw got the swap done but it was too dark to post pictures, will post pictures tomorrow! :)

Its a product called zero rust, i bought it at Tacoma screw they said its super durable and its a DTM product (direct to metal) so prep was just getting the old paint off and then cleaning the surface then painting. So far im happy with it, i think it looks good and so far its held up

SqWADoosh

What did you end up doing about your drive shaft?

Dingman.

Ouch, that cuts deep..   lol

Rusty78364

So ended up talking with drivelines northwest and they reccomend going the trail gear route for off roading, they said they just cant beat that price so what have you guys heard about the trail gear heavy duty driveline kit? Good or bad?

Rusty78364

Never mind totally blanked, even if i got the trail gear kit my driveline wont droop enough, looks like its gonna be a tom woods driveline!!! Haha

I wouldn't recommend using trail mart u joints. I have them on my truck right now. I bought some as trail spares. They vibrate horribly at highway speeds. Best to use the factory u-joint.

He was given some advice by a buddy at work to have a CV on both sides of his front drive shaft. I was telling him last night that it is complete and utter overkill to do so. He really only needs one at the transfer-case output. I think Tom Woods or High Angle is your best bet for sure buddy.

Rusty78364

Looks like im going the tom woods route, just gonna have to tale the measurements for fully conpressed fully extended and at ride height on top of flange measure ments then ill be giving then a call!

jangelfire

Im waiting veryyyyyy patiently for a local giy to build my lines. Hes not been on point to say the least. The estimates i got from him, after bringing him a buncha parts is sad to say the least.i coulda had woods lines by now and cheapet! Do it bro!

Rusty78364

Hey guys, so im trying to figure out a shackle set up and i dont know if i want to move my spring hanger forward and run longer shackles or if i want to leave the hanger where it is then run a dual shackle setup. What i would like to know are the pros and cons of running dual shackles.

What i know:

Pros:
More droop
Better flex

Cons:
Tend to unload when side hilling, wouldnt putting a pin in to lock it from unloading resolve this issue?

Rusty78364

Im pretty low only have a 4" lift and if i run dual shackles that are 4" each, at full extension they would theoritically be equivelent to a 7" shackle so the unloading and fliping on your side deal wouldnt be that big of a factor would it? Since a lot of guys are running 6" single shackles? And when they are at full droop they dont flip over...???

LittleSteve

I doubt anyone has the patience to pin a shackle between obstacles. Gotta be at some sorta angle to unload and fall over!
What length springs you runnin?

ive been running dual shackle setup with my rear 63s for awhile now, wheeling and dd use, never had them unload on a sidehill or on the street, i keep the bolts tight.evens at full droop ive never had them invert backwards.

I wouldn't recommend that much shackle... I have dual shackles, and they only have unloaded funny when going fast on fire roads.  I use dual shackles to stay lowww....  I use the ruffstuff chevy kit.  Works great.
