I have just purchased a new W56HD transmission and sent my tcase in for a rebuild with the low gear upgrade. Got it all installed two weeks ago and the tranny is howling in 4th and 5th gears under no load, sounds like a bearing. I have left messages, sent e mails, called everyday for two weeks and can't get a response. I have spent over $2000 and need some answers. Does anyone know how to get in touch with these guys?

Just try calling them.  As much as you can.  They are super busy, and short handed.  They are a salesman short.  There have been days that Mike was the only guy up front, and all others were out on vacation or other things.  I know it can be frustrating.

Also they getting ready for the annual round-up for Marlins birthday. busiest time of the year for them as everyone orders part right before it, to get their rigs ready.

Still no contact from tech support....PM'd Big Mike as suggested but no response yet. I guess I should chill out....just becasue I have spent a ton of money with these guy's I shouldn't expect to be able to talk to them about the product. :chillpill:

I'm extremely disappointed with Marlins service lately... All of my friends stopped buying from here due to waiting for months on end with no parts showing up and money floating around in cyberspace... That should be #1 priority is customer service which includes getting parts out to their customers forking out their hard earned money for Toyota parts! My room mate has been waiting for over 3 months for parts. He finally cancelled his order and had his bank cancel payment, cost him $35 for absolutely nothing... No wheeling trips, yota is still on jack stands and now everyone is ordering parts from TG... Truly a sad situation... :headshake: Something needs to change soon or Marlin will be losing even more business than they already are...

Let's take it as a good sign that our economy is doing well. So many of us have money to spend that Marlin can't take our money fast enough. Despite their best attempts to hire someone to help them take our money faster, there are not enough qualified people in the area without a job already for them to hire and train the help they need.

I understand frustrations..  I work hard for my money and i'm not gonna give it to china. Those TG parts are hit and miss. Some are great.. like parts that don't involve moving components.. Armor and such sure... Im just saying b careful. Don't wanna work really hard for something just to get it and realize you got ripped off and all of that hard work has gone to waste. I wouldn't say that's better than receiving nothing at all..

Op, sounds like you may have a drive shaft issue, feel like a vibration? More info on your set up May reveal the issues

SE OK Mark

Not a drive shaft problem and this is how I know....had a borrowed tranny in there while waiting on mine and it didn't make a sound. Any other suggestions? Man I almost know it is coming from the tranny....one of my questions I want to ask marlin is are these HD trannies set up for low RPM only...that wouldn't make sense but thought I would ask it. Tranny shifts good, feels good, just lots of bearing type noise in those two high gears on the highway!

GONZO97

that might be a valid point. it could be that maybe the gears arent meant for highway speeds or maybe its because of the cut on the gears. giving it a whine noise. im interested to see what they respond with so if you hear something please update us

The transmissions tht they build are for highway/daily driving/offroad use. They are not particularly for low RPMs only.  The HD tranny is the way to go. I have one in my truck and it hasn't given me any problems for 3+ years. You'll prolly have to be patient with them a little because they are holding the annual marlin crawler roundup on the con this weekend and they were prolly busy getting ready for it all this week.  But nonetheless, they should be getting back to you right away since you are a paying customer. Hope this helps a bit.

Started off another week of not being able to talk to tech support at Marlin and still no answers to e mails or PM's! How do these guys stay in business?

helipilot77

By having the best quality gear available. They are hard to get ahold of. But once you do I have faith that they will make it right.

Well it Wednesday and I have tried calling Marlin all week multiple times a day with no luck.....just a recording saying call back later! Really???

The transmission they sent me looked like a piece of jewelry on the outside but sounds like eminent failure is near on the inside!

I have over $16,000 tied up in this rig and don't feel I can drive it around the block!!!!!

Crazy thing is I a found an 89 scrapped truck that had been laying in a field for 6 years....jacked it up out of the dirt pulled the transmission out and ran it while I waited for mine to get here from Marlin....it was like a sewing machine....but I wanted the HD best of the best from Marlin and the low gear upgrade in the TC...now I feel foolish.

Passed it along.  They were short on help the last couple of days.  Someone should be contacting you soon if they haven't already.  Phones are all up right now also.  If you don't hear back soon, try calling again.  You should be able to get right through.

It's REALLY weird down there.  It must be that every customer must be on the same call in schedule.  I was down there in June, and the lines were busy for 15 minutes, then nothing for 20-25 minutes.  Its crazy.   :dunno:  I thought about texting Mike, but I saw that Superyota must have texted him already.

Superyota must have a hot line! CJ called me yesterday twice and we are working on the issue. I really appreciate it too!

Seems Marlin has been having phone and server issues that were causing them to miss messages and phone calls.

They have given me some things to try before I pull the unit and send it back. They believe it is a drive line issue and believe me I hope they are on to something! I was convinced that the drive line could not be the problem because it was fine with the old beater transmission I used while waiting on the new HDW56. As is turns out they tell me the Marlin unit is built to a much tighter spec while the old one was built to a more liberal spec and it had more forgiveness due to wear that the problem was not as evident.

Basically they suggested the first move I make is to shim down the cross member .75"-1" to reduce the drive line angle. This should be a quick test to see if the noise is reduced.

The next suggestion was to install a CV joint on the output of the Tcase.

I will be working on the shim down later today.

I appreciate yalls help with getting in touch with Marlin Tech Support and will update after I make the shim change.

See! I new they would get it straightened out.
