MCR was a great adventure!! I left with (Floorunner,Blackrunner87) from Dinuba at 7pm, after about 20 miles the check engine light turned on, and my truck was DRINKING GAS!!!! Luckily I took my OB2 Scanner and it had a Mass air flow problem, stopped by a local Auto Zone, swapped the part, crossed our fingers and it worked!!!
Then we got lost looking for the exit off Ice House Road, we drove around till 5am!!!!! We slept for two hours and started the trail at 7:45am from Loon Lake side
After being in the trail for a while we had our first breakdown
Nothing 3 batteries and a couple arc welding rods couldn't fix!

We arrived to Rubicon Springs around 4ish and set up camp.
Meeting marlin was awesome!! He's really a nice guy!!!

We woke up super early Sunday so we could miss traffic! Bad idea, first 10 mins into it we had our second breakdown!!!!

this one is really bad!!!!!!!!!

Thank god Marlin came to the rescue!!

We made it home safe, the best part was MaRlin called us the next morning to make sure we made it home safely!! Thank you Marlin Crawler and company!! This event was awesome!!!!

HogCanyonHopper

Out of curiosity what did Marlin do to fix this? Damn! that sucks...! Does this sorta thing happen often with stock axles?

Nation

Ratchet strapped it tight and welded er up I'd assume

Yes^^^^ Marlin has a onboard welder. I don't think this happens often, Marlin said this was a first for him. I think it was a combination of things that led to the break, 1) The truck was in a rollover last December, 2) The knuckle ball gussets where not properly welded onto the knuckle.  All in all, I was grateful it didn't happen on the freeway!!!!!  :D

Dingman.

Jrock just did that himself didn't he?  that is the second time i have seen pictures of that happening recently

HogCanyonHopper

people are gusseting and trussing and diff armoring. I see the weak spot  :_oops:

No, he bought a TG Housing.
He is now collecting more parts to finish it up.

Looked liked the gusset was there but not welded in the most important spot. How's it supposed to support the knuckle ball if it's not welded to it? Good thing you guys were able to fix it and be on your way
