Well as many of you know I traded my 92 truggy on wontons for a built 95 runner sr5 on toy axles. I was hesitant in starting another time wasting and consuming thread so against my better judgement I am doing it.

So far the ideas I am kicking around are simple. Run an in cab cage and ditch the exo. 60/14 or 60/70, Hydro assist, 4d's and keep her street legal. I am still poor so I will keep it on the leafs. I will french the rear hanger and lower it a bit as well. I need another ADD project like a bullet in the head so here it is :shaking:

The OG Project hippie killer. Saw it at the round up this weekend :(

The new runner how I got it. Had a little rock rash but all in all was pretty clean. It's a good running 3slow, 5spd, 23spline inchworm duals, spool, rear detroit front, bobby longs blah blah blah.

I got 2 trips to fordyce and 1 to the con in the last month and a half and lets just say I have beat er down pretty good. The cake topper was the the flop at soup bowl that went ahead and caved the rest of my passenger side in hence the family raisin :shaking:

Now for some random pics.

Here is pulling the plugs after the soup flop. I am waiting on my buddy to email those pics and I will post them. Needs lowering. If I am 6'3" and I have to stand on my tippy toes to reach into the engine compartment thats wrong

So that is that. A quick run down on whats new in my world and what is upcoming.

Nah it was all good homie except pulling all the plugs after.

Should have my tons on Saturday the 4th. Need to sell the beadlocks and Iroks so spread the word Eddie.

I shouldn't be down for too long. This won't be like my last winter project  :rofl2:

1500 and they are close to 95% tread. All hold air and no vibrations down the freeway not that I'd make it a habit of street driving iroks constantly other than to the trail.

Wheels are less than 2 years old too.  I had my cousin order them up new for Sean right when he got the 39s.

You might have your tons before I get the money to fix my front locker... It's a race!  Lol.

Why did you pull the plugs on an EFI engine?

Because I didn't want to hydrolock the motor. I thought with the 3slows you had to be more careful with flops and water crossings?? Am I wrong because as I tipped it over I turned it off just being cautious.

Yeah I may end up keeping the tires but we will see. They guy bringing me the tons may want my wheels too but not tires. I don't know if I want to separate them because its a PITA.

I will have them next weekend and will start immediately on the swap which should not take me too long.

Maybe its something IDK about, but I don't see how an EFI engine would leak fuel into the cylinders. The advantage of running EFI is that it still runs on extreme angles unlike carbs, which can leak fuel.

kdub0013

It's not so much the fuel as it is the oil that dumps into the cylinder. I can't tell you why it's different than a 22e but maybe someone else can chime in. Maybe I was just being gun shy too.

x250f23x

When you pulled the plugs, what come out? And how much? This had me thinking all day

kdub0013

Oil and enough to coat my engine compartment. It would mist out a fair amount.while I.cranked and I was probably a quart low when all.said and done.

kdub0013

Well here they are in all their glory. I won't have them until the weekend of the 5th but I'm stoked either way for my 4doors for the family and back to tons. Another funny to all this is I am getting my old 42" Iroks back from my buddy so it's bolt all this crap together and modify the front hanger and I am golden.

kdub0013

The other item I am pondering is the tie rod being behind the axle with hydro assist. Read good and bad about it any one else care to chime in? My oil pan is already clearanced and I have bump stops up front. Just need some input.

OOPS

Water crossings are the same with a 3.0 as a 22r, they both breath from the same spot behind the grill, which needs to be moved.

The two hoses that come from the valve covers and go into the air intake system are the reason the hydro with oil. Beings the engine is a "V" most of the time the valve cover is at more of an angle allowing the oil to flow into the air cleaner on the PS, on the DS the hose hooks in right before the TB and when you get it back on its wheels the oil flows into the TB and then down into the engine. If you are going to flop it do it on the PS, less likey to hydro. :smack:

You flopped on soup bowl, my wife walked it in the dark on her first try!!!!

I'll need to do a shave on that pig or just let the rocks shave it  :gap:

kdub0013

Well I'm fully committed now. Tires and wheels went to a new home today, tons will be here this weekend.

Shamb

Got the front cleaned up and ready for a new hanger. I would love to buy one of those fancy WFO hangers or something like that but I can't justify spending the money on something I can make myself. Anyway here is also some axle porn.

kdub0013

I got the axles this morning and sent the toys down the road. First thing was a little degreasing and cleaning.

The next thing I did was install the arp studs but once I pulled the arms I realized there were already arps installed so I just installed the new ones and my buddy is taking the others.

Installed the new arms using the c clamps to press the cap Down and not the nuts.

Mocked it up with the springs to see if the reverse high steer will work. I think it will since it actually goes behind the oil pans low point or so I think.

And the ass end.
