Well been working on my axle for the past 2 days. I got it all striped down, cut off some brackets, and got my diff armor welded on yesterday. Today i cleaned all the parts painted them, threw some races in place and put in my inner axle seals. should have it finished tomorrow by lunch and hopefully have the truck on its own weight by the end of the day. Heres some pics enjoy!

Got it finished!!!!! Everything looks and runs great. Love having power-steering lol. Heres some pics

This is where i ended up mounting my steering box mounted it a little low cause im going to need to run a flat pitman arm.

Just need to buy some new shocks for it, get a flat pitman arm, and a new front driveshaft. Goin to a toyota 4x4 swap meet tomorrow so hopefully i can get a few of these missing parts there.

She is buried up the road there at Cypress alongside her two boys, my Uncle Frank and Uncle Joe. Petaluma has alot of memories for me. Alot.  :beerchug:

Very clean truck! Keep up the good work! One thing I noticed was that when you redid the rear shackle hangers, you didnt box in the frame.... I'd recommend using a piece of 3x3 across the back of the frame. It will slide right in, stiffin it up and prevent it from bending and gives a good place to build a bumper off of!!! :beerchug:

Got a driveshaft built like a month ago finally! So I have 4 wheel drive again. Need to take this thing out gonna try to go to cow mountain one weekend soon. Here are some random pictures ive taken.

My shocks are a little short therefore limiting my flex a little. I also need to get rid of the overloads on the chevy leafs they dont like to flex too much once the springs hit my overload.

All i need now is a rear locker and dual cases. The truck does pretty good on the freeway with 4.37s. I can cruise in the fast lane doin 75 no problem. Get about 17 mpg 75% freeway 25% in town. I'm also looking for a set of 35-37 inch tires for offroading. Tryin to keep this thing streetable (is that even a correct term lol) as it is my daily driver. Want to do the Marlin Crawler Round Up next year so im hoping i have all this stuff together by then.

Ok so im slowly saving some money so i can re do my front axle. I'm gonna add a truss, trail gear wiper seals, Marlin inner axle seals, and probably marlins knuckle gusset kit. Then its on to dual cases. Just gonna run 2 stock cases for now. I'm gonna get a marlin adapter and a budbuilt skid/crossmember. Do you guys have any suggestions as to what else i should do while im doing this phase of my build?

Nice!! The dual stock cases were plenty for me! I could use better axel gears since 3.90s and 35s dont go that well... either way i made the rubicon just fine.. the duals honestly were the easiest part of the whole build.. marlins knuckle gusset kit is def worth it... i have a TG one if u want it for cheap.. but the Marlin one is way better IMO... and i honestly had both in hand.. amd as a fabricator.. no reAson not to go with the marlin one... my buddy has a lunch box locker he might sell for cheap... ill ask..

As far as suggestions... i would say get out there and get comfortable with your rig... its weird.. ive been wheeling for years..but never had as built of a vehicle.. and  we did mine in two weeks with no practice or seat time... and the ish that it can do right out the box.. is ridiculous... and can get you in some harry spots quick... but basically what ur talking about i did first go around...

blahhhhhhhhhhh
