actually i have been ignoring the reason for this thread... until today, and yes there are lots of errors entries... better chances for the correct entries lol..

what really gets me is the people with 1 or two posts that are just in for the freebies..lol i get it, but always pisses me off when someone like that wins...

So of course there are incentives for us to do such a give a way, and amongst the reasons are to increase forum exposure and hopefully also participation. There have been over 120 new members in just two days, and we've still got half a month to go.

When referring callers to our forum for additional tech support, you'd be surprised at how many people never knew we had a forum.

That is okay with me, if we can get at least 1 new member to hang out, enjoy herself, and become a Silver or even Gold Turtle member, than that would accomplish that part of the marketing campaign

But yes, I certainly see your point. We could have used our Facebook account for this, which would definitely get more exposure, but I'd rather bring some new folks here to hang out with MC and friends even for just one holiday

I also see some long time members who haven't been around for a while posting up for this, which is pretty cool!

Good question and the answer is no. I've already built a script that gets the member names of all posts that meet the criteria, removes the duplicates, then picks a name at random on a third iteration.

One mouse click, one winner, as simple & easy on us as possible. I actually won't know who won until the evening of Dec 25 as I'll be flying back home all day Christmas day (returning from Florida). So CruzrDave will be the one announcing the winner at 12:00p PST Dec 25
