you planning to shave that d70 housing?

I'll probably do a little grinding on it but nothing major, I'll be sick of grinding by the time i grind the calipers down to fit 15 inch wheels.

Here's a little more progress.

front hanger

Rear shackle mount,  just a frame tube cut down to the width of the chevy springs.

Rear spring hanger,  (Ruff stuff frenched chevy hangers)

Wheelbase with front axle moved 6 inches forward from stock position.

Nice! I think we're gonna shorten my wheel base the same way! After we see how yours comes out.

No, you'll never do it.

I know they are crappy cell phone pics but here's a little more progress.
The drag link is made from. 250 wall tubing and 7/8 heims.  The ifs box is mounted and the steering shaft is done.

Your 86 was a nice truck bro.  Can't imagine how sweet this one is going to be. :driving:

Lookin good Brandon. Why did you go with heims instead of TREs for the steering?

Because heims are shiny. And bitches dig shiny stuff.

No seriously,  because a buddy got stuck buying 10ft of tubing and gave me his leftover tubing after making his tie rod with 7/8 heims and I liked how his turned out.  Then I found a steering arm on pirate drilled for 3/4 bolt for only $50. So with the ruff stuff heims, arm and 3/4" hardware I was about $150 into my steering setup.
I just went with the stock tie rod with the 1ton tre's. We'll see if it holds up.

Got a set of DIY beadlocks for it.  Looks like I'll be trimming quite a bit of metal.

Thanks man!      That would be awesome but I doubt a cage for this thing will be in the budget anytime soon.

I got it drivable and took it up for a little test drive at bald mount

86rustbucket

Then I started working on the double Bob.  Here my lovely assistant Eric shows off the progress after removing 8 inches.
