started tearing down my front axle for rebuild. Picked up 2 4.88 diffs, one open, and one with a lockrite. Lockrite is going up front and i may weld the back im not sure. also got IFS outters but not 100% sure what is needed to use them.

As you saw, I cut the inner fenders out. So I mocked where I want to "try" and put my front axle and how I am going to cut the fenders. I mocked with a 39.5 irok.

enjoy

how are you wanting to do the IFS hubs? there is a few ways to use them, one requires a hub widening kit and the other requires tacoma rotors, and some grinding of the hub bodies and calipers.

ive done the grinding way, twice.

I asked for a 98 v6 4wd front rotor. The ifs hub has to be ground down so the rotor slides on to it from the front. The taco rotors are slightly thicker then an IFS or FJ Rotor, so the calipers need to be unbolted and split in half and the notch in the casting the rotor "goes thru" needs to be opened up a bit so it fits onto the rotor. Also the rotors now need to be mounted on the other side of the knuckle ears. And run a small spacer between the caliper n ears. Its like 1/8" needed i think. I have pics of it installed.

Started tearing apart my axle for rebuild and paint. Then I noticed this... Whats the deal? One IFS or something? The Diameter is the same on both where the bearing seats. Leave it or change one for the other?

lol Ive never messed with rearing down an ifs... It may just be a different style that came on either an early or later axle?

So it got pushed outside and hasn't been touched in a few months... Man life is different with two kids lol. Anyway, I got it running and everything but some things aren't working like the radio, blower for a/c [slash] heater, headlights, horn int. light. However, the running lights, blinkers, clock, blacklights on dash do work. Im confused here. Any suggestions

check fuses?

this. the fuses you want to look at are under the steering wheel next to the clutch pedal behind the plastic cover... correct me if i'm wrong.

Power comes from the main fuse block on the passenger side kick panel through the firewall into the cab. I would pull the fuse block off and look at the wires behind. Make sure there's not corrosion or a power wire came lose.
