Cut Iroks for the snow? pics anyone?
« on: Mar 28, 2012, 05:49:17 PM »
Does anyone run cut Iroks for the snow? Could they be balanced after?  I just got a set of fairly new 42' Iroks for the Runner.  I have some Stauns and a tire groover. LOL but I wonder if they can be balanced with the stauns let alone grooved. I do have access do a tire balancer. Would love to see some pics. Post em if you got em! Please!

I wouldn't cut Iroks. There great in the snow, just air them WAY down.

I wouldn't think there is much you could grove out of them anyway.

Hello what???

I have run 36, 39.5, 42 bias ply iroks and they work bad ass in the snow!!! New drop

below 5 psi (depending on vehicle weight) Iroks probably work better in snow than any

other tire, baja claws seem to do well too.... ANYWAYS the Iroks tread is already cut/

deeply siped from the factory ANDDD the tread blocks are broken up too. Plus the Irok

is soft, hot knifing will increase "chunking" and "rock rash".... My  :twocents:

Well thanks guys. I grooved my TSL's and have not got to try them in the snow yet. I did a lot of damage at our local top truck challenge last year and missed the snow season. I finally got my 42' IROKs and was just wondering if I should groove them as well. I have them in my garage unmounted and they are WAY softer then the TSL's, So I guess I will just run em.

i would run them first. Iroks are killer in the snow without grooving
