It's hard to  be crummy at fabrication when you been doin it since age 12.

Never touched a welder or grinder until weld/fab school in 2004, so I started fabbing at age 20.

Anyone interested in the power steering pump relocation bracket?

Working on plating the boat sides with some dimple dyed 10 guage miked out at .130".  I am fully welding the steel boat sides to the chassis and then covering with the 1/4" uhmw that I was rocking before.  The bottom 10 ga. skid has 1/2" uhmw and will still be bolt on so I can access the trans and everything else down there.

I run a $20 wrecking yard TC pump off a 4 cyl. jeep wrangler.  I have modified it to flow more gallons per minute and run at a higher pressure.  I am also running Amsoil tractor hydraulic fluid.. Come to think of it my fluid cost more than the pump..hehe

Gonna be in Bend next week!!    :willynilly:   Gonna head over the 23rd, and do some rat hunting down in Summer Lake area.  Meeting up with Bam on here.  He's building up the 3rd gen runner.  My plans are lunch at 10 Barrel, visit Nosler get a tour of the facility, and fill growlers.   :beerchug:

Can't wait, because I love that country.  Then after hunting, going up to Dufur.  Cousin invited me to come and shoot with her husband.  I guess all he does is shoot critters in the fields when he has free time.
Miss ya Dean (4THEWKN) & Kyle (KYOTA)!!

Got the turbo fever again :hammerhead: :moon:  I am doing this thing on a budget and aiming for 6psi. using parts I scrounged up on Craigslist or from people I have met.  The only new items I will be using are the lines and fitting for the oil feed and return.

Motor: 2001 2RZ w/custom intake
Turbo: Mercedes German make KKK off of a 84 300 DSL or 240D, no shaft play
Manifold:  Built by yours truly TIG welded of course, mild steel, T3 flange
Wastegate:  Tial 38mm
Recirculation valve:  NONE
Exhaust: 2.5"
Oil feed line in: -4AN
Oil return: -12AN
Fuel mods: NONE :crossed:

I'll post as many detail's as I can, but if you have specific question fire away

BM,

I would hate to think that I have that kind of effect on your life :rivers:.. bahahaha

I think this will be fun to test out the boost capabilities of the factory ECU, I just couldn't keep quiet about it :lipsrsealed:

Let me know if you ever want a turbo manifold, I have a lot of pieces that I had cut on a tube laser which makes it a lot easier to throw one together.  Probably be smart to make sure mine doesn't blow up first though.  :nerv:

Cheers

I love boost! I'm curious to see how itll handle 6psi with factory ecu! I was kinda bummed when I saw you canned the idea before... Glad you changed your mind! I've been wanting to turbo my 4runner, bought a nice 1/2'' flange from LCE and a whole box of 1.5'' stainless 90s a few months ago... But with all the other work I got going on with it I'll stay N/A for now. I can honestly say you have inspired me to keep working on the TIG welding, you lay down some very NICE beads :yesnod:  :beerchug:

Thanks and Awesome!  I am sure it won't be a problem for the factory ecu to handle 6 psi since the factory super charger runs 5 psi with no fuel mods.  I have heard of 9 psi reliably on the factory ecu with the pink top injectors.. I might even start at 8 psi.. I'll keep this thread updated with what I think about what the ecu can handle, sources are telling me that 8 psi is no problem!
