I have it wired to a temperature switch so it kicks on and off and doesn't kick on that much when crawling, but probably more in the summer.  I am kinda torn using electric fans because I have never thought them to be very reliable.  On the other hand these are affordable and this is the first time I have had one go out, so I will just replace it.

It is so awesome to be out and wheeling this thing.  It just goes where I point it until the rocks swallow me whole, I found myself shipwrecked a few times, but I think a lot of it is driver error :boozer:   Suspension is working out great, no hopping or suspension unloading under throttle and it feels a lot more stable than the last one I built before this.  I am still digging the trailing arms when they hold together and the 2rz to auto trans is still getting the job done.

I did my first front dig which worked out great :sly: and ended up disconnecting the rear d-line after the breakage :moon:, so the Dana 300 has already proven to be an awesome addition to an already good thing.  Just working out the kinks on it now and there have been a few small things which is to be expected.

Sounds like a successfull build.  That's cool how you have yer fan hooked up that's how all the cool kids are doin it. It was probly just that fans time to go.  New one should do the trick.

Update!

The trailing arm has been fixed and tested :eyebrow: as well as fixing the other side before it broke.  Ordered a muffler and redid the exhaust.  It now exits passenger side back of the rig.  I used a Thrush turbo muffler and it is pretty quiet now which I like!

Taurus fan magically started working again :headscratch: so I am going with it.

Purchased a scanguage ii for digital guages and trouble code reader, but my OBDii port is not connecting to the scanner :tantrum:.  I am in the process of double checking my triple check on the wiring, but I feel a bit lost at sea when it comes to wiring.  I've got a real good idea of what needs to go where, but I think I need an ohm meter to see if my E5 plug is giving info to the D7 data link connector..hhhmmmm

You need an unmulested harness to refer to.

You up in Washington ? Depending on how far away you are from Portland I could always cruise up and you could look at my interior harness in my truck. Might have pull some dash pieces out to see what you need. I wana buy one if the badass Toyota wire diagram books and everybody's problems would be over. All the research on wiring I've done and I never researched where to buy one of those books. I'm an idiot

I've got good diagrams and a good tech line to call (Justin @ Toy Only Swaps).  Everything looks like its wired correctly and the motor runs awesome.  When I first cranked the motor however I smelled burning and shut everything down.. rechecked everything and it was all legit.. I am not sure if the computer had been compromised at the wrecking yard, sometimes they sit out in the rain or get dropped by a worker :hammerhead:..  I am thinking about trying another ECU to see if the computer is toasted a little.. Here's part of the wiring diagram's I have printed off and redneck laminated with packing tape :gap: for a trail copy or whatever..

Pic of the link repair.. This is 2 TIG passes and then a weave over.. I filled the rest with the MIG.

And the new exhaust set up!

Tungsten Slayer, what kind of weather do you have?  Are you worried about the exhaust wrap holding moisture and rusting the metal?

What brand exhaust wrap?

I live in Bend or. so it's pretty dry most of the time.  I am not concerned about rust on the exhaust.  It will hold up for quite some time.  I don't remember the brand of the wrap, but I do remember it being organic material.

Thanks for the response on the wrap.

Yeah man, the heat wrap keeps a lot of the heat inside the exhaust system.  I am really happy with it!  I re-used my wrap for this second exhaust.  For some reason I pictured it getting hard and being a 1 use item, I think because it looks like some of the hard cast I have had on my body from breaking bones. haha

Bend is a fun place if you like the outdoorsy stuff which is why I moved here.

I have some wiring diagrams and some FSM stuff.  I would be happy to share, but I'm not sure I know how to send some of those file types.

I won't post them here.  I don't want Marlin and Mike to get in trouble.

This all started cause I thought maybe tungsten slayer needed help figuring out his obd2 plug. I was kinda bringing up how I would like some good clear user friendly diagrams for Tacoma 4 banger wiring. I know theres a lot of downloads out there and stuff others post. I think ill check out all data. If I was better on a computer it would prob be really easy for me to get some good stuff. I've heard of books you can buy thought that would be cool to have.

But yea when tung slayer said his data link connector wasn't working I offered to bring my truck out so he could look at my int harness and maybe see what was wrong with his by copying mine I'm not in any big need of any wiring diagrams at the moment. There's prob a way easier way than tearing into my dash It was just an idea. Good luck on that obd port.

Swapped out my ECU and meowsers, it works!  I had a manual ECU and traded for an auto ecu which didn't require any wiring

It's a 4 rib serpentine belt, just like the factory power steering belt, only shorter.  The factory one is 34" and this one is 31.5".
