Over the next few hours we are transferring files to our new, much more powerful machine. This will require a complete shut down of our website.

Once our site goes offline, it should only take about 2-4 hrs to get it up on the new machine.

I am REALLY looking forward to this!!

Ok guys! Everything should be back up and running as normal now :D

HUGE THANKS TO LIROY and CoreISP for getting this new machine setup and running so quickly and during the New Years Holiday!! :bowdown:

Our site was going down at least once a month which was really horrible. It was clear that we needed a faster machine for our growing site!!

The new machine is powered by a i7-2600 quad core processor with 8-cores running at 3.4 GHz (according to cpubenchmark.net, it is 496% (nearly 6-times) faster than our old twin-core E6750), 8 GB of DDR3 RAM (much faster and double the size of our old boxes 4 GB DDR2), and we've got double the disk space on a RAID setup for redundancy (if one drive goes out the system continues to run).

:woohoo: With the more powerful machine I plan to roll out some huge changes to the forum here real soon! Gonna be awesome! :party: :thumbs: :turtle:

Hey guys,

Caboose just informed me that the forum search is down. This is because I have to reinstall the uber fast search indexer and get the forum reconfigured to use it. Sorry about this, I will try to get it back online today :thumbs:

Ok, got the super fast Sphinx search daemon back online :beerchug:

Here is a benchmark comparison for the search term 'BigMike':

Built-in forum search: "Page created in 6.189 seconds"
Sphinx forum search: "Page created in 0.537 seconds"

As for the Magic Turtles, they are not compatible with our forum anymore, however, since we last used them I have gained a great deal of programming knowledge so I may be able to make it work, but I'm sorry to say it is very low on my priority list at the moment.

I checked our database and your email address (from your forum account) does not exist on our Store website. Please keep in mind that our Forum and our Store websites use two different databases requiring two separate accounts. If you are certain that you have created an account on our Store website (www.marlincrawler.com), could you reply back with your username? Thanks! :wave:

There *might* be a way to merge registration inform between the two databases, but at this time I haven't been able to accomplish it (I have many other things going on I must complete first).
