So I started watching this show roughly a month or so ago and I'm kinda hooked on it. The show itself is cool because the plot is a bunch of guys just trying to strike it rich in the Klondike. But there's many times within the show I'm pulling my hair out screaming "W T F are you idiots doing?!?!?!?"

Some of the stuff on this show makes you wonder how much comman sense these guys really have.

I forced my wife to watch an episode the other day before we went to bed and she swears that she will never watch another episode... lol..

Who else is watching this?  It's kinda annoying how long they can stretch something like ripping top soil w/ a D8.

The last episode was by far the best in my opinion, you actually got to see SOME gold.

I think I've seen every episode, beginning last year when they first went to Alaska. It is interesting, but yeah, way too much drama and yeah, I know that at least some of it has to be staged. Sometimes you gotta wonder how any one group of guys can screw up so badly.

If I was a few hundred thousand bucks in the hole and managed to find a measly few ounces of gold, you can bet I wouldn't be celebrating as if I was suddenly stinking rich.

I tried to watch that show but the old fart is too stupid to watch for very long.   I get fed up and turn the channel.   :hammerhead:

yea... ive never been more ashamed to see Oregonians on the TV....    so sad, but yea, im assuming most of it is either staged drama or just plain stupidity.  sadly i would have started panning from day one and prob got more gold than they did the first season.  this season i cant really bring myself to watch it, but i have it all recorded.

yea it's pretty obvious some of the show is staged... after all it is "reality tv" at it's finest... but still fun to watch.

I think it's funny how every episode they're  "at the breaking point"  or "at the end of their rope"  but then turn around and spend a few more G'z on something they need for the wash plant.

I think Dakota Fred is a R-tard as well, I don't really feel bad for his misfortune but enjoy watching his son's attempts.

The sneak peek for the following season show's the young kid's grandpa at the Big Nugget have a heart attack and a few other big moments that will keep people like me watching.

Curious to see how much gold is found by the end of the mining season.

I saw all of last years, and a few episodes of this year.  I too, being from Oregon, I'm willing to move out of state just so people don't associate me with them.  Hell, they could have done better with a handful of sluice boxes and panned it old school.  Yeah, Dakota Fred is a jerk.

As for the old man, I would have shot him personally.

Yup.... almost makes me glad I left Oregon. Almost...

Agreed. I saw his bad luck after stealing the claim out from under the Oregon boys as karma.

Jack? I agree. Assume you aren't talking about John Schnabel -- that old guy seems to have it together.
