anyone going up tomorrow??

i was just up there earlier today to get a tree. it went from dirt to instant 6" right at about 6300ft. (just below lots t) at lots t there was just under 2ft. i was solo so i didnt wanna push it but you could break trail going left at lots T and head on soda ridge. it get up to 7000ft. bet theres at least 3ft there.

snow conditions are horrible though, you need super low psi to go anywhere. its like trying to drive through wet concrete.

im gonna go head up there right now. just riding solo with the dog. i wanna see the new snow from last night and all the damage from the winds and flooding. ill probably make a fire drink a few beers and chill out somewhere along the tradition snow wheelin route.

late post but when i went up a few days ago it was a mess up there from that last crazy wind storm. there were huge trees down across the road quit often. most of them require at least a 28" saw to cut them. some people had already cleared a bunch because they were in a stock vehicle. by the time i cought up to who was cutting all of them they were stopped in a section that had 3 huge down trees. the people decided they were done clearing them since it was getting to be to much work. i went around that section in my truck to go a little bit further just to hike around car mine, but thats as far as i went. so i cant really say how much snow is at higher elevation. i would imagine lots T has right around 3' of cement snow. might make for some good frozen night wheelin runs soon.

as for the flooding, Everything up there was washed out and torn up. place was a mess. should make for an awesome snow wheeling season when we finally get snow in lover elevations due to all the erosion.

I always talk about going but really only go like 2-3 times a season
highlakes is up past inskip, theres paradise then magalia then sterling city then inskip
no club, but if you keep tuned into this thread we can all meet up and go up sometime

Nothing firm yet, pete is going to text me sometime this week if he can go. quadcabish thing will go pretty fast, already have another cab cut in half i just have to trim down and weld on, put a back in and close up the window area and fill the bed/cab gap in. i gots plenty o time !

just got back, it was snowing on us all day. snow levels really low. there was about 4" at stirling city. the roads are pretty sketch. lots of old ice under good snow. didnt quit make it to lots t where there should be a decent amount of snow (was getting to be a long day). but where we were.. there was probably a foot. and its adding up fast.

it was fun and the snow wheeling conditions are prime... there just isn't to much. not enough to get seriously stuck yet. tomorrow would be a good day to go.

theres this once ditch section that we always like to hit. it was awesome till i found this mud hole that swallowed half the front of my truck.

ya that was kinda my point about the road conditions. i wouldnt subject towing past stirling city. not sure if your familiar with that big gravel parking lot, but just when you take that hard left into stirling city.. go right at that hard turn. its right off the road. good spot to park and drive up from there.

through a buddy i head there were already a few accidents up there today just past sterling city.

doesnt really matter in these kind of conditions. we have been at that spot unloading trucks numerous times. even can remember a few times where there was either a sheriff or chp hanging out right there. and they just wave. they understand its safer that way. and those were all non street legal rigs.

Yep i know the spot, hopefully they get the road atleast to stirling all graveled up. And ya street legal doesnt matter on snow covered roads. Hell ive driven a green stickered rig with no flaps and tail lights right up clark and skyway and even got pulled over ! they let me go on my way too without a ticket lol.

good trip guys. thanks for comming on such short notice. snow was awesome. good wheelin conditions. pretty soon theres gonna be to much and its gonna need to settle for a while before we can stay ontop of it. i dont think anyone will be making it to lots t for a few weeks. looks like we are suppose to be getting a lot of snow. i might be wrong though. either way looks like we are gonna have some good trips in the future.
