how would i run duals with a forward shift t case? im looking at gettin a parts truck and then running dual cases but im stumped because the shifter position

Michael Wollinsky

anyone? this confuses me do i need to convert it to top shift?
Hand built and driving daily

Peterbuilt84

Use the forward shift as the crawl box and then run the top shift behind it. That is if you're running a forward shift transmission. If you have a transmission that uses a top shift you'd have to convert the forward shift to use as a crawl box, it's not that hard though.

Michael Wollinsky

ok so i have a forward shift i need a top shift to run behind mine thanks is there anything i need to do special to mine shifter wise?

Peterbuilt84

For duals you have to weld a piece of key stock to the high/low shift fork so the shifter doesn't pop out and remove the 2wd/4wd shift rail all together.

Michael Wollinsky

what if i had to forward shift cases would i have to convert one then?

Peterbuilt84

Yes, if both are forward shift one would have to be converted.

Chevy's with dual shake and ruf. What size shocks do you think I'll need I'm thinking 12 in front and 14 in the rear

daniresch

Depends what angle and how you mount the shocks. Take the measuring tape out and start measuring is the only way to know. :duh: I run chevys and ruf with 12" all around.

Michael Wollinsky

what do you guys think about the shackle angle? i think it turned out good
Hand built and driving daily

Peterbuilt84

I'd shorten the shackle, angle looks too vertical to me. Probably want to out some sort of angled piece on the front hanger too, looks like a rock anchor.

Michael Wollinsky

i still gotta put the bed on and i forgot to get the hi lift jack off i have to leave it there or ill trip over it

Peterbuilt84

Ah, I guess take a pic when you get everything together then. My other statement stands...
