3RZ CAMS/HEAD
« on: Jun 17, 2011, 04:00:22 PM »
Figured since I couldn't find anything search-wise this should be its own thread....

Anyone have first hand experience with 3RZ LC/Paradise cams or heads w/ a NA CA smog legal application?
Talked with LC and was told:
  • pro cams ($600) gains of ~10 hp.
  • Full head w/ pro cams ($2900) ~25 hp.
Don't have room for a supercharger, but at 4 psi (smog legal) gains of ~30hp(?).

At the price of the blower (3.5k + urd mods), the full head from LC seems pretty good in comparison.

I'm specifically looking for advice from anyone that has first hand experience with cams/head from LC/Paradise/other.  Opinion on reliability? Power?  Any other advice/comments?

Thanks.

Typically speaking, you wont find andy aftermarket head or cam that smog legal.  As for 10 hp, the best I got to wheel on 37"s and dual cases was 9hp. But that was only at 5000RPMS. At some thing like 4000 their was no change. My  :twocents: go with their headers they work.

Thanks for the input tacorunner.  Was your experience with the pro series LC cams?

Why would the pro series cams not be smog legal...do they simply throw your emissions off enough to not pass?

I already have their header, just looking for a little more power.
