Got a problem building my exo
« on: Jan 29, 2005, 02:26:28 PM »
Ok I have just about completed my exo and I ran into a problem, a problem the size of an ARB Safari Snorkel. Has anyone seen a truck with an exo that has a Safari Snorkel on it? If so drop off a pic for me. Thanks
That's how I roll

I am sure you want to bre able to open your doors, so I think somthing like this. Just to the inside of the snorkel over the windshield and down the fender. Not a good drawing but you may see what I am saying. ???

I have an ARB front bumper ...I want to be able to connect from the bar that goes down the windshield to another bar that goes down to my rails.

You mean like the nerf bars or what do you mean by rails? Do you have a side pic that shows the snorkle?

Okay here is how i would do it:
Starting at the front of the fender do it just like the other side untill you hit the snorkel then make a sharp bend up then carry it with the contour of the snorkel once you hit the head of the snorkel make a cirle thats is about 4" in diameter measuring on the inside side of the tube and have the circle fit around the base of the snorkel head then just run the bar from the top of the windshield to one side of the circle then the side coming from the fender that followed the contour of the snorkel to the other end.  :D

Sounds like it would look pretty good to me  :bling:

Why not just duct tape it on to the side of the rig like you would duct tape a blue tarp to it????????????

What if you used some 3/8 inch plate and went under the snorkle all stealth like??

Honestly unless you plan to submarine it you don't need the snorkel. I used to turn the air cleaner around and pipe it into the cab behind the glove box so it pulled air from inside the cab. That at least gives you a chance to get out before you dround the motor. Just dont roll the windows up or your eyes will pop out of there sockets. :ha_ha:

I think you have enough hight there you shouldn't have a problem unless you are under 5 feet of water.  :twocents:

What ever you want to do though is cool with us after all it is your truck and you have to live with it.

i dont understand the snorkel thing.  ive never seen a truck as tall as yours on the trail either. but like a couple people have said, its yours and if how youre building it makes you happy, thats all that matters

THE TRUCK IS SITTING ON A LIFT! I LIKE SNORKELS SO KISS MY  :moon:

You haven't seen any trucks as tall as mine on the trail? You must not be anywhere near Tellico. Deep mud and ruts. BTW once again it is sitting on a lift and isn't that tall.

personaly i like snorkels to you never know how deep a mud hole is by looking at the surface water you can get in over your head very quick but i dont like them on the side of the truck im thinking about running it into my cab then out the roof or some crap like that or let it suck from the cab
