new to building my toyota
« on: Apr 02, 2011, 02:32:03 PM »
I have a 1981 toy pickup. I have tried to do all the work my self. But I am starting to run into problems that I can just can't fix in my garage. So my question is this; is it best if i just start from the beginning and get a full lift kit from all pro or just Peace things together like some you have. I don't have a lot money or time for all of this and my son is bugging the heck out of me to go wheeling.

Any help on this would be great.

thank. :-\

well would you rather spend more cash on a pre-man lift or fab it up yourself?

The junkyard springs are alot cheaper than allpoo. It also took me about 3+ years to get all the parts. Start with f150 springs and the rears up front, and new highsteer through marlin and you'll have a good start under $400.

Hmmm...no money and no time! That makes this tuff...I went with prefab, but time was money for me and it worked better for me. Good luck, sorry that wasn't really helpful.  :burnout:

It sounds like you are somewhat new to crawling? I would go with prefab purely because it is easier to install, and chances are it will probably go wherever you will feel comfortable going.

Im kinda in the same boat... I wonder How much better most of the custom fab spring set ups are than the all pro extreme lift.  Obviously every custom job is different.  How much flex does the chevy or F150 springs have compared to an allpro spring set up?
