Building a 89
« on: Aug 11, 2005, 03:59:13 AM »
New to the board but i figured i share a fresh buildup im in the process of doing. started with a wrecked 89 Ex-cab toyota with the front end being damage (body panals) and doing a front SAS with toy rear springs/2.5" LC springs, marling hi-steer, 83 front end, 4:88 gears and 38's. for the rear im using 63" chevy springs and building a custom Anti-wrap bar to keep it solid. so far i have the IFS torn and cut out and finishing up on my spring hanger. i will have more pix up soon.

quick Q, i have a 3.0 V6 with a 5spd, ive been told i have 4:88 gears in the rear because i have a white tag on the pinion, is that correct :dunno:

pics

Front veiw

side veiw

about where the axle will set, estimate

83 front end and the 38's

interior, need cleaning:D

All gone

as for the gears, white generally indicates 4.88.    however, only auto trucks were supposed to get the 4.88s, and only with the 31" tires package.  might be a good idea to pull the 3rd and count the teeth.
