It's that time of year....
« on: Feb 08, 2011, 10:27:14 PM »
so what are you gonna do with your taxes?  Most of us will get some of a return.  So, what are your plans with them, to help stimulate the economy?

Me~ We are expecting $6640 from Federal.

~I'm looking into a bigger toolbox for the shop
~I've been eyeballing a 92 extracab toyota w/22re around the block from me, with a bad HG.  Just need to see what he wants for it.  Been sitting for a couple years.
    >If that doesn't pan out, a new lens for my camera<
~A few other things for the house. ~lamps, laptop, and whatever makes the wife happy~
~Stash away the rest, we have union contract negotiations this year.  So, I may need $$ in case we go out on strike.
Miss ya Dean (4THEWKN) & Kyle (KYOTA)!!

4THEWKN~9/17/2006  If it wasn't for you, I'd be driving something other than a Toyota!

I bought a Sixpack slide in cabover camper, dinning room table and a living room chair. The funny thing about the camper, usually they make your truck look smaller, my truck made the camper look smaller. When we were putting it on I had to remove the front legs to get past the dual wheels, just kinda let slide on the bed until it got past them.

Already bought a new bed, a good night sleep is the best, and the wife is happy.  Bought a new computer.  Returns came last Friday.

I'm self employed and have to pay quarterly.   I get to write a check to the government for about $4000.

I'm looking to buy something to replace my 2wd toy with.  First choices are a subaru, early 4runner or extra cab 4wd, but I'm leaving my options open.  If I got off my butt and did some mods to the 4by, I could sell the 2wd and get a nicer vehicle, but I'd rather use the money I have now and do something more productive with the money from selling the 2wd.

Or I might buy some guns  :gap:

We're paying off a credit card used to purchase this computer and i'm going to pay a full years gym membership. Along with a few little things that my wife wants...
The rest will get stashed in our saving's account so i'm not having to work so much overtime until my wife get's finished w/ school in July and HOPEFULLY get's a FT job.

We've already got our state, just waiting for federal. Feb 14th's right around the corner.

Well the taxes came in.  And the truck I've been eyeballing, he wants $1800 for it, and the frame has alot of surface rust, that looks like it might be more than that.  Couldn't tell without grinding on it.
Trying to round up a friend to go and attack a u-pullit yard with me.

I'm buying a new truck when I get home from this deployment I'm leaving for in a couple weeks.  As of now everything is just getting saved.  It's all good though, there's nothing I really want other then a few large purchases that will have to wait, and I fortunately have no debt.

I don't see how people get so much back.
By paying in too much during the year, effectively giving Uncle Sam an interest-free loan.
Can be a way to save, though, if nothing else works.

I'm self employed and have to pay quarterly.   I get to write a check to the government for about $4000.
I'm retired and paid quarterly to cover taxes due (mostly) from converting an IRA to a Roth IRA.  :ack:
