Been flexing the IFS...
« on: Feb 07, 2011, 09:33:54 PM »
while cutting firewood lately.  Been going up a lesser known road, few dare to go, or don't know about.  It climbs to about 1500 feet elevation in about a mile and half, and has some pretty serious water bars in it.  This is one of them.  Some are pretty serious, and with a load of wood, the little truck isn't liking it.  In the first pic you can see how much the road is dropping just in the corner behind the truck.  I didn't buy my truck to baby.  It is meant to be used.

There is 1/3 of a cord there.  I got three cord sitting along the fence line, and that isn't including the wood that is stacked at my sister's, and mom's house.

Pics kinda suck, cause I was using son's little point and shoot digital.

There are a couple roads around here, that are way worse than this one.  My favorite is what we call the Incline Road.  Steep and many switchbacks.  It's a four low, first gear show all the way to the top.  With water bars about every 200 feet.

Sorry didn't see your reply.  I was up Diamond Rd, off of Stuart Creek Rd.  Basically, the Miami side of Tilden Bluffs.  Some pretty steep country right there.  But the Incline Road is my favorite.     I need to get up there, it's been awhile since I was up that way.  Dad was still alive.

yes yes... all that area looks the same.... i havent spent much time on that side of the mountain. except for a couple quick passes during deer season.... Think i ended up out there one time exploring, but i started at Barkers bridge and took quad trails...

incline is pretty tame now... was up there bout 8 months ago in a suburban lol... but who knows what its like after that last storm....
