I like the bead locks. Do ya have any info on them, design, pattern, demensions, or just some advice for someone doing the same thing? How could the be inproved? What would you do different. how hard is it to slip your tire over them? What was the outside diameter of the ring before welding, and how much gap was left between the wheel and tire for weld?  Please clue me in.

first off i barrowed a timplate from a friend to get the hole layout he baught just a single ring from a company along time ago and has been using it as a template the inside ring that gets welded to the wheel is 16" dia. and the outside ring is 16 1/4" in dia. could probably go a little bigger if you wanted to if i was doing it again id make an anti coning ring considering the inside portion of the rings only have a 1/4 inch gap between them ill probably fix that when i mount new tires there was about an 1/8 gap all the way around the wheel where it was welded not positive on that just a guestament also weld the inside of the ring too not all the way around just 1" strips about every 3-4 inches other wise the main sealing weld will act like a pivot point and it might crack when you tighten it down (it happend to a friend of mine) ill get a picture of what im talking about and post it up later. any more questions
oh yeah and on the holes i recomend going up a 1/32-1/16 of an inch larger than the bolt your using that way your not fighting them

and jerry im trying to get it ready for a quick run this sunday i might not have the 4.7's in but ill try its been way to long sense the last time ive gone wheeling i used to be going at least every other week now its almost been 2 months

oh and if you have a plasma i recoment investing in a circle cutting attachment it makes life so much easier :beerchug:

Gittinit

Thank you! It looks like I will be buying a ring for a pattern then have a local guy with a plasma table cut them for me. One more question though, did your bead locks widen your wheels any? I am currently running 8'' and need somthing a little wider.
