I need a good free registry cleaner so I can make sure there's nothing "left behind" while I uninstall some programs.

There's a ton, i'm looking on CNET right now and not sure which one to pick. I need it to be simple and quick without any attached bs.

I use WinUtilities, it seems to be pretty good.  Its also free

CCleaner.  It's completely free to download AND use.  It also has a neat program to remove all .tmp, chkdsk, temporary interntet, history, prefetch, etc files all in one click.

Most of the registry cleaners offer free download but want to charge you to remove what it finds after installing it.  Not CCleaner.

The pay version is only for support.  click on one of the free download locations below the big button.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

I have found that the Windows installation disc works best for me.  :cheese:

 Agreed, most techs don't recomend cleaners. Pretty much worthless for actually fixing errors.

I've used CCleaner in the past, I wasn't aware that it removed registry files as well?

I thought it just cleared temp internet files, cookies, history ect

If that's the case i'll use it... I do like how quick and easy it is.
