brakee light and battery light on

i got a 90s toyota ext cab 4x4 with the 3 slow in it and a 5 speed... at random times the break light and the battery light come on and stay on for a few mins then go off for a wile the come back on.. batterys is 6 months old and checked the break fluid and breaks are good


any ideas

It sounds weird but have your alternator checked.

The battery light usually means poor charging, the brake light may just be coming on with the charge circuit. 

What is the voltage reading at the battery when the engine is running? 
'90 black X-cab mod'd 3.0, 33's/4.88's, rear ARB, custom bumpers, sliders, safari rack, etc.

Alternator or wires going to/from it.

I would check the charge in your battery

The only time your alternator light will light up is when your alternator is getting weak or going out. Go to your local parts store like Vatozone or Kragen and have them chek your charging system. There's no cost. Go to Kragen, their machine is more accurate, the machine will tell you what is has and voltage it puts out.
