It has nothing to do with being scared.  It is all about knowing what your rig can do.  For example, I'm sure Marlin knows exactly what his truck feels like when it's getting near the flop point, so instead of pushing it harder and flopping, he backs off and comes at the obstacle a different way.

idk, i think he needs to make a full exoed truck that is savagely built with full widths an links an enter ttc  i would love to see a factory company get out there an show what they got... xxx traction an house of diesel have put some pretty crazy vehicles out. i would love to see an all pro or marlin wheeler out at ttc an just kill it

I've seen some insane lines Marlin takes, and not even get a scratch on it.  Like I've said before damage is not a indicator of your skill it is a sign of the lack of it. I don't think that there is one trail he hasn't been on in Johnson Valley. Plus it doesn't hurt to have one of the best set up full bodied rigs out there either.

He sells toyota stuff so if he built an all out 'killer' rig with full width crap he would have to spend money for all  full width stuff.  Or he could build an all toyota buggy, snag one of everything off the shelf and kill some TTC, but TTC is dumb and killing is illegal.

Just as an FYI, that truck has been through everything on the Rubicon since the late 1980's. This includes the little sluice, the sluice box and the V-Rock before they changed the trail to make it easier. And that was long before Marlin developed his gearing system. Marlin has wheeled the Rubicon a minimum of two times every year.

The first part of my post mentioned full widths. I was saying marlin doesnt carry that stuff. So it would be "inconvienient" for him to do that. As with big mike, toyota stuff.
